Fenrir's Pov.

Walking into Kattegat with Geri many start to mumble with one another while I keep my head held high before walking towards the tavern where most likely my brothers are. The journey went well, I do not mind walking trough the land with  Geri, thats why I do not hold a home. Also why should I need one, I don't have a family and i'm more than capable of living of the land.

Walking into the tavern I see indeed Rollo and Ragnar sitting at a table making me walk over to them before sitting down next to Ragnar.

"Thought you had gotten lost brother." Rollo says and I give him a grin. "I'm on time am I not? "I say as I feel Geri lay down by my feet.

"Ah yes Fenrir wolf's kissed the wanderer." He says making me roll my eyes before looking to the stuff on Ragnar's side. "And what is this another way to sail west?" I ask him and he gives me a nod.

"This one will work Fenrir, do you not wish to see what lands lay west? What god's they worship?" He asks making me shrug. "I do wonder what lays west but the earl will never let us sail there." I say before grabbing his cup of mead and drinking from it.

"The bastards east are as poor as we are, he should let us go." He argues making me shake my head with a chuckle. "He should, but we are not the Earl. Unless you wish for me to take his head from his shoulders?" I say before it turns to a whisper as I lean in his direction with the cup to my lips.

"Maybe one day." He whipsers back with a grin as he bumps his shoulder against mine.

The Next Day.

Standing next to Rollo while chattering, cheering and laughter's fill the hall I soon hear one of the guards slam his staff into the ground before speaking. "Silence."

When everyone has became silent Earl Haraldson walk out with his wife and adviser.

"Olaf Anwend. You have pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing. Tomorrow, you will run a gauntlet of stones and turf as punishment. " Svein speaks as I feel Geri sit down next to me as my hand lays on his head.

"Yes, lord. Thank you, lord." Olaf says with gratitude before Svein speaks again.

"Let it be known a fine is to be paid by anyone who fails to throw something."  He says making most laugh while I shake my head with a chuckle.

"Bring in the next accused. "

"There he is! Murderer!" One man yells as the accused is being brought into the hall and in front of the Earl.

"Eric Trygvasson, you are accused of the murder of Sigvald strut this January. How do you plead?" Svein says before Eric speaks while I just lean back against a table with my arms crossed over my chest.

"It wasn't murder, lord. I killed him in self-defense." He defends himself pulling some angry shouts from the crowd while a woman calls him a liar.

"If it wasn't murder, why did you not declare your crime to the first person that you met afterwards, as the law obliges? In fact, you passed by several houses before you reported it."

"I thought the relatives of the dead man might be living in them." Eric tries making the crowd speak in disbelief and well it does not sound believable. To pass three houses and not declare the crime.

"The law allows you to pass two houses in such circumstances, but never a third." Svein says before a woman says.

"You murdered my brother in cold blood!"
