I'm Busy: Filler Part

Steve walks over to Y/n trying to figure out what to say.
"Hey Y/n" he says smiling at her.
"Steve what are you doing here?" she asks surprised.
"I wanted to thank you for last night" he says nodding nervously.
"Yeah no problem" she says nodding looking away.
"Did I do something?" he asks nervously.
"Steve I'm really busy" she says grabbing plates walking away serving them to the tables.
Steve takes a breath following after her determined.

"So you fixed my knee?" he asks walking beside Y/n who's rushing around the diner serving people's food.
"Mhm" she replies quickly.
He sighs quietly still following behind her while she works.
"Do you wanna watch movies tonight like we usually do?" he asks smiling.
She ignores his question talking to customers.
Walking to get more orders from the cook, Steve follows behind her trying to talk to her.
Finally having enough Y/n turns around looking at Steve annoyed.
"I'm busy okay we'll talk later" she says raising her voice.
He looks at her wide eyed surprised that she raised her voice even if it was only a little bit.
She sighs shaking her head.
"I'm really busy Steve..I work all day today" she says sighing walking away back to do her job.

Steve sighs quietly walking towards the door, Darla smiles sadly at him as he leaves the diner.
He gets into his car looking out of his window at Y/n.
"Dammit!" he exclaims hitting his steering wheel frustrated before driving away deciding to go back to his empty house.

Time Skip:

Y/n cleans up the last of the plates with Darla at the diner after closing. Darla looks at the girl seeing her zoned out scrubbing the same spot from earlier.
"Stubborn stain?" Darla asks smirking at her.
Y/n snaps out of it looking at Darla smiling.
"Oh yeah" she says smiling nervously.
"Sweetheart what's on your mind?" Darla asks smiling at her softly.
"Last night Steve came over drunk and he said something that I can't get out of my head" she says sighing putting more plates onto the tray.
"What did he say?" Darla asks curious.
"Well he said that I'm still in love with a guy who is gone now" she says sadly.
"Is this guy Billy?" Darla asks carefully remembering when Y/n had brought him in to meet her.
"Yes..I did love him I still do but I know that he's gone and that he's not coming back..I just didn't think that Steve would be the one to say those words" she says holding back tears.
"Sweetheart take it from someone who lost the love of her life years ago, that love never goes away we just find new people to love as well" Darla says smiling at her comfortingly.
"It's just hard..I still pretend like he can hear me..I mean I can't get over him his little sister is one of the most important people in my life" she says shaking her head wiping tears away.
"Sweetheart you're young, love is meant to be felt more then once" Darla says smiling.
"Thank you" she says smiling at her.
"Of course Sweetheart anytime" Darla says hugging
Y/n tightly.
"Give him a chance Sweetheart he's a good boy" Darla says in Y/n ear about Steve.
Y/n listens to what she says thinking about how Steve came into the diner trying to talk to her.
