Steve's POV:

I wake up confused about where I am when I feel pressure on my chest, looking down seeing Y/n cuddled into my chest fast asleep. I sigh looking down at her, I move her hand and head slipping out of the bed.
She groans turning over. I walk over to her kissing her forehead one last time.

Walking to the door I stop debating staying until she wakes up but I decide against it. Walking down the hall and out of the front door.

Time Skip: Still Steve's POV

I stand in front of one of the shelves putting movies away when I notice a guy walk up to the counter talking to Y/n, she tucks her hair behind her ear which she does when she's nervous, she laughs at something he said, he hands her a piece of paper before leaving the store.

I decide to ask her about the interaction and it looks like Robin has the same idea as we both approach Y/n who's organizing some papers, she looks up at us smiling.
God her smile makes my heart race, good thing Dustin's not here because he would've said something.

"What are you guys looking at?" Y/n asks us laughing.
"What was that?" Robin asks her smirking.
"What was what?" Y/n asks shrugging.
"Who was that guy?" Robin asks rolling her eyes.
"A customer" Y/n says sighing shaking her head.
"Really? Then why did he give you his number?" Robin asks grabbing the piece of paper smirking.
Y/n reaches up trying to get the paper.
"Rob it's nothing he just asked me out" Y/n says sighing finally reaching the paper taking it.
"And? What did you say?" Robin asks intrigued.
"I said yes" Y/n says smiling nervously.

I feel my heart drop to my stomach.
I lost her, the one girl who understands me, the one I want a future with, my dream girl all because I chickened out telling her the truth.
Robin looks over at me sending me a sad smile before looking back at Y/n.
"When?" Robin asks smiling.
"Tonight after my shift" Y/n says nervously.
I sigh quietly trying to hide how I'm feeling.
"That's great" I say nodding.
"Really? You think so?" Y/n asks nervously.
As much as I hate that she's going on a date with someone else I couldn't say anything, she had the cutest smile looking at me nervously.
"Yeah" I say smiling at her.
"Thank you both" Y/n says hugging me and Robin tightly.

Y/n walks away to organize more movies when Robin walks over to me with a pity look.
"I'm sorry" she says smiling.
"It's fine as long as she's happy" I say watching Y/n.
"What are you gonna do tonight?" she asks sadly.
"Get drunk" I say chuckling sadly.
"Want company?" she asks shoving my shoulder smiling.
"Thanks but no I just want to wallow by myself" I say sighing before walking away.
