"I thought it was natural causes... this whole time I-... I thought-" A lump formed in the back of my throat, my breathing slowed and suddenly the room began to spin.

"Sweetheart, calm down..." Loki muttered softly, wrapping an arm around me in an attempt to make me feel safe.

"I-" The words got caught in my mouth as it kept opening and closing, unable to project the words I wanted to say. "He-" I gulped heavily, eventually glancing up to Loki with tears streaming down my face - staining my cheeks with black lines of non-waterproof mascara.

"I need you to calm down, okay?" Loki whispered, lifting my hand to his chest. "In..." One. Two. Three. "...and out." He continued to repeat the notion until my heart was beating in sync to his. "Good girl." He planted a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"Loki... they're still coming." I searched his eyes. I didn't know why but I wanted to find even a hint of panic or concern but there was nothing. All his attention, all his worries... he was fully focused on me. "We need to prepare." My words came out like a breath.

Loki nodded, slowly standing up then reaching a hand out for me to grab. He pulled me up onto my feet then began rushing away, dragging me along with him by the hand.

"I have a plan but I need you to trust me." He explained, grabbing a dagger from up his sleeve.

It was difficult to trust a man who's title was 'God of Mischief and Lies' yet for some reason I did. I trusted him unconditionally and something told me that wasn't going to change any time soon.

"I trust you." I reassured him, continuing to allow myself to be dragged along.

He smiled softly without turning around- still looking straight ahead, still running in the same direction.

Eventually, I noticed the large vessel which hovered threateningly above us.

"Darling... I want you to go to Asgard. You will find help there." He spoke lowly as I watched the vessel begin it's descent.

"You mean the people your brother rules? They'll take his side!" I scowled, becoming increasingly annoyed by his idiotic plan.

Loki sighed, letting out a dry laugh, "Not all of them." He then handed me the dagger as a hope of protection.

"For some reason, I doubt that..." I began.

"Paige, my darling... I love you, okay? I dont know what I'd do if something bad happened to you." His voice was soft and soothing.

I smiled, blushing a deep pink as I watched his cheeks turn a beautiful light blue. Finally. Finally, he had said he loved me and even though I had no time to truly appreciate it, my smile widened, stretching ear-to-ear. "I love you, my prince."

Just as the vessel hit the ground, an image of the other Loki, whom I had met mere chapters ago, came flashing to the front of my mind. I couldn't let Loki die. "- which is exactly why, either way, I'm not leaving you... not now, not ever."

He glared at me, too busy to argue much further. "Fine." It came out as sneer but by his expression, he seemed appreciative of the fact he won't be doing this fight alone. "Where's my sceptre?" He questioned, glancing over to the minions he corrupted. Some were under his control, others were very willing to plot against the Avengers... more willing than I was. Tony Stark however- well plotting against him wasn't a problem anymore. I wanted to take him down in the most tortuous, painful and excruciatingly slow way possible.

Eventually, the iron man suit was seen on the ground and (to Lokis dismay) I rushed towards him.

'Just do it,'  the words rang through my head.
