I didn't hear from Loki for the rest of that week. On the other hand, Elise wouldn't stop messaging me. Apparently, Clement had planned a surprise trip to New York for the two of them and she so desperately wanted to meet up. I said I would but when the time has came... I decided I would much rather stay in bed.

So I messaged her...

saying I was sick...

She's now here... At avengers tower fangirling over Captain America and Clement is drooling over Black Widow while I sit in my room, reading a book and listening to Stark complain to Brucie about how he hates them being here... me too Tony, me too.

"Tony, please. They're Paige's friends! Be nice." Pepper whacked him over the head, gently enough to not hurt but hard enough to get her message across.

"And I didn't invite them." Tony scoffed as I walked out my room.

"Neither did I." I admitted, "I was meant to be meeting them at that taco place down the road... didn't want to go and now they're here."

Stark looked unbelievably unimpressed. "You are just like your goddamn mother."

My eyes widened as I watched him walk away. His words made me think that was a bad thing but before he told me they got a long well.

"I'm sorry about him," Pepper smiled sadly before following after him.

"Brucie, what was that about?" I asked.

"No idea... thought you'd know, I mean - she's your mother. Anyone ever told you anything?"

I scoffed, "Only that seeing me is like she's back from the dead. I've heard that one wayy too much over my life." I rubbed the back of my neck as Elise came dashing towards me.

"AHH PAIGEEEEE!!" She squealed, making Bruce cringe.

"Heyyyy..." I tried my best to match her energy but was too caught up on whatever Stark had meant.

"I know you said you weren't feeling well so I came to check up on you! And brought a snack!" She smiled, handing me a wrapped up taco.

I smiled back, "Thank you, Elise but I could do with some rest today... I'll come home soon though!"

She nodded, "I understand, get better soon babes!" Then she turned and walked away.

"Lying?" Bruce said.

"I know, it's wrong... I just really need to get my head around things." I smiled sadly.

"Not judging." Banner defended, "Can I help you with getting your head around things?"

I chuckled, "Don't worry about it, Brucie." He didn't say anything else as I made my way to the lab, opposite direction to where Elise was going.

Almost the second I finished another bot, I heard Steve running down the corridor, "SUIT UP!!"

Déjà vu...

I rushed out the lab and snuck onto the vessel, glasses on and a small remote in my back pocket that I had recently connected to Hope incase the 'intelligence' became dangerous.
