As soon as those visiting from the other realms had left and gone home, Loki was thrown back into his cell. I felt terrible to watch him go but I'm helpless in this situation. I would go to visit him at the earliest convenience.
That night, I went to my chambers (as they call them here) and got the best sleep I'd had in an awfully long time.
~~~ next day :) ~~~
"Ah Lady Paige!" Thors bellowing voice echoed down the corridor.
I smiled softly, turning around, "Thor! I was on my way to find Dr Banner but it seems I'm a bit lost..." I admitted, glancing around the corridor. I was sure I'd been through here before.
"Not a problem!" He patted my back which, to me and the majority of mortals, felt like he was trying to slap me into the next room. "Come with me!" His grin was wide and comforting as he set of walking, his hand now resting on my back
"Thank you."
We chatted the entire time as I allowed myself to be pushed along. Thor was rough but not in an uncaring way just like how his voice was obnoxiously loud but not in a shouting way. He was simply much stronger than he realised but in reality (once you got to know him I mean) the almighty God of Thunder was simply an oversized golden retriever.
"Here he is, Lady Paige!" Thor announced as we stopped outside a half-open door to see Bruce stood holding it open.
"Thor, could you quieten it down? My head is ringing..." Banners hand rested on his forehead, forcing the glasses halfway down his nose - hair a complete mess and eyes half closed. This was the first time I'd ever seen the infamous Dr Bruce Banner hungover and I didn't want it to be the last. "Oh... Paige-" He said, finally noticing me.
"Good Morning, Brucie." I said with a wide grin and bouncy voice.
He grunted, glancing around to find his bearings, "What I'd give for Peppers pancakes right now..."
"Ah! There is a feast being served for breakfast, you are both welcome to get whatever you like!" Thor boomed, making the doctor screw his eyes tightly shut before he eventually agreed. "Lady Paige? Will you be joining us?"
I shook my head, "I would like to explore Asgard if that is alright with you. I'll be back before dark."
Moments later we parted ways, Thor guided Bruce down to the dining room where as I set off on an adventure around the castle.
Each grand door was sternly guarded, only allowing me access to certain areas. The ceilings were tall and each room was vast, marble and gold everywhere.
Although, it wasn't only the castle, every inch of Asgard was spotless. From head to toe, it was pristinely clean - nothing like New York or anywhere on Earth. It was like a dream that you never wanted to end.
I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable under the eyes of passing Asgardians. I stuck out like a talking clock in the 19th century, even though the people here looked a lot like humans, only more refined and simply stunning. They stared at me as I walked around so decided it was best to go back to the palace.
Once I arrived, I was greeted by running Asgardians. They were all running the same direction; away from the palace. Crap.
I rushed inside, looking around as quickly as I could until I was eventually greeted by a big, green Hulk down the corridor. "BANNER!" I shouted, making him drop a lady he held captive.
"No Banner! Only HULK!" He yelled.
Okay, so maybe running towards the angry hulk wasn't my smartest plan but hey - what else was I meant to do?
I grabbed onto his arm as he began to swing, ready to smash something. I was flung away quickly but somehow landed onto his back. Thank goodness. "Hey big guy..." I whispered. He began to throw his head around, unable to find the source of my voice. I slipped down from his back, deciding to take a softer approach like I'd seen Nat do before. I slowly moved infront of him, the green blur settling down. "Suns getting real low." Not making any sudden moves, I lowered myself to the ground.
Eventually, the hulk copied my movements and I extended an arm. He took my hand with an uncomfortably tight squeeze (which, surprisingly, wasn't completely bone-breaking) as the green faded to pale. Dr Banner was back.
"What happened?" He asked, one hand in mine and the other on the ground.
I smiled gently, "Let's get you some clothes."
Before I could receive a reply, Thor came bounding down the corridor, soon coming to a halt upon seeing Bruce back to his normal self. "Ah... you're back?" He asked, glancing to me then back to the doctor.
"And where were you, Tonnerre?" I scoffed. They were meant to be together then I come back to a raging Hulk and no Thor in sight.
He takes a pause before showing a pulled pork sandwich then taking a bite, "Would you like to try some?"
I rolled my eyes, "Just-..." I took in a deep breath, Banner was turning flush and Thor was still as clueless as ever. "Nevermind..." I took Bruce's hand, helping him up then handing him a robe.
After he pulled it around himself, we made our way up to his chambers to get some proper clothes.
