--Esmerelda's POV--
"I'm assuming since you haven't brought up Nick in a while he finally called," Kylie says as I put the last dish in the dishwasher.

"No...I'm just assuming that means he's having a good time," I tell her.

"Probably. It's like Harry said his sister is probably ecstatic about him being home," she says.

"I'm so embarrassed. I miss him," I groan theatrically.

"You said it not me," she says as I gasp, "I'm kidding. He will be home tomorrow right?" She asks.

I check my calendar and realize it's already Saturday. I've been on autopilot since he left. All I've done is...we'll be hungover and catch up on assignments, "Yeah and you're sure Harry doesn't mind picking him up? I had to cover for him at the internship but I should be home when they get back," I tell her.

"They need their bro time or whatever," she says.

"When is he coming over tonight? I don't want to get in the way of your date night," I tease wiggling my eyebrows.

"You don't have to leave. We are just having dinner and watching a movie," she says as I shake my head.

"You guys deserve the place alone. I'm just gonna go to the studio," I tell her, "Just put a sock on the door if you decide to do the hanky panky on the couch," I tell her walking to my room.

"It was one time," she calls back.

"One too many"

I can't hear her laughing as I lay down in bed to catch up on some TV. This is the best time of the weekend. Alone, watching TV, with a snack, and in the dark. My blinds are my best purchase. Today's show of choice is 9–1-1. Hot firefighters are my kryptonite.

Halfway through one of the episodes my phone rings making me jump cause I thought it was on silent. I grab it from my nightstand and see Nick's contact photo. I immediately answer it and smile as he says hello, "Long time no speak stranger, having fun?" I ask.

"I forgot how much I loved London. It's the only place you can get a proper cup of tea," he says as I laugh.

"You're so snobby. I didn't hear you complaining when I made you tea the way I normally do," I point out.

"I mean....it came with a little more than tea," he says making me blush as I quickly change the subject.

"It's good you're having a good time. We miss you here," I tell him as his smile can practically be heard through the phone.

"Harry and I will have to kidnap you guys and show you around our hometown," he says.

"I wouldn't hate that," I tell him. I can hear some mumbling from the other side of the speaker. There are some hushed tones before a woman starts speaking.

"Is this Esme?"

"Umm hello," I say trying to figure out who it is.

"I'm Louise. She sounds pretty Nicky," she says making me smile, "He doesn't stop talking about you," she adds as Nick yells Mom in the background, sounding particularly British. It might be the most adorable thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

"Hopefully it's all good things," I tell her.

"Of course. Tell me about your classes. All Nick talks about is this song he wrote recently," she says. The rest of the call is me telling his mom about our classes and the teachers at the school. She was very adamant about knowing about the internship he managed to get. It's nearly thirty minutes later when Nick steals the phone back.

"Sorry about her. She's very talkative when meeting new people," he says as he steps into another room.

"Stop don't she sorry. She sounds fun," I tell him as he lets out a happy sigh. Louise calls his name and he laughs as I listen to them talk for a second.

"Listen I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow," he says.

"Definitely, can't wait," I tell him.

"Bye Essy," he says before hanging up. Essy? That's new. I fall backward into my bed and smile thinking about him talking to his mom about me.
