Night fell over the motel as Spencer Reid sat in his room. Thoughts about his feelings for JJ had been with him all day, and he had decided to take the next step. He knew he couldn't put off revealing his emotions any longer.
He grabbed a pen and a blank piece of paper and began to write slowly. He chose his words carefully, trying to express his thoughts clearly. After a few moments, he held the piece of paper in his hand, read its message again and nodded with satisfaction.
The message included a meeting place and time. He wanted to meet JJ somewhere meaningful to both of them to talk to her about his feelings. But he decided to deliberately leave out the sender. He wanted her to focus on the message itself, without being distracted by his identity.
After writing the message, he carefully placed the note on the table in his room and looked at it thoughtfully. A feeling of excitement and nervousness ran through him, but he knew he had to take this step.
The following hours passed slowly as Spencer excitedly waited for the next day. He hoped JJ would discover the message and muster the courage to come to the agreed meeting point. The uncertainty of how she would react made his heart beat faster.
Finally he lay down to get some sleep in order to be ready for the meeting the next day. The darkness enveloped him as he prepared for the unknown that awaited him. The message lay on the table, quiet and unobtrusive, waiting for the new day to dawn and fate to take its course.
