Escape from feelings

Spencer ran as fast as his legs could carry him back to the room he shared with Derek. His heart was racing, his thoughts were swirling, and he couldn't believe what had just happened. The kiss with JJ had overwhelmed him so much that he didn't know how to react to it.

When he reached the door of the room and pushed it open, he was surprised to see Derek sitting on the bed, wearing a disturbed look. "Spencer, what happened? Why were you running like that?"

Spencer stood there, breathless, trying to organize his thoughts. "It...it's hard to explain. JJ and I met and I tried to confess my feelings to her. But then...well she...she...kissed me." His words became quieter and quieter, but Derek understood what he wanted to say.

Derek's eyes widened in surprise. "She kissed you? Wow, that was quick."

Spencer sat on the other bed in the room and took a deep breath. "Yeah, I... I was so overwhelmed that I just ran away."

Derek laughed quietly. "Well, that's probably a unique reaction to a kiss. But hey, I understand that you were surprised. After all, you struggled with confessing your feelings for her for so long."

Spencer sighed. "Yeah, that's right. I always thought I knew how to say it, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't."

Derek put an encouraging hand on his shoulder. "Hey, that's okay. It's not always easy to find the right words, especially when it comes to our deepest feelings. But you've taken an important step, Spencer. Now you can both see where your feelings are taking you. "

Spencer nodded slowly and smiled slightly. "Thanks, Derek. I know you're right."

"No problem, my friend. And now maybe you should get some rest. Things will work out, believe me," Derek said, getting up to prepare to go to bed too.

Spencer lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. His heart was still in turmoil, but he felt himself slowly calming down. The kiss with JJ had thrown him for a loop, but he knew he had to embrace the unknown to find out what the future held for them both.
