Spencer was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling, when the door opened quietly and Derek walked in. He looked up at his friend as Derek sat down on his own bed and looked at him curiously.
"So, Spencer, how was the kiss with JJ?" Derek asked with a mischievous smile.
Spencer cleared his throat slightly and felt his cheeks blush slightly. "Um, yeah, well... the kiss was... interesting."
Derek grinned widely. "Interesting, you say? That sounds like a very scientific observation."
Spencer rolled his eyes, but a small smile played on his lips. "I mean, it's a fascinating phenomenon that exists in different cultures and eras. The physical meeting of lips..."
Derek laughed heartily. "Okay, okay, I get it. You can stop lecturing me about kissing. But how did that make you feel?"
Spencer sighed and leaned against the headboard of his bed. "Feelings are complex neurochemical reactions in the brain that... um... occur due to the release of hormones and neurotransmitters..."
Derek raised an eyebrow. "Spencer, I asked about your personal feelings, not a biology lecture."
Spencer stuttered, trying to organize his thoughts. "Right, of course. So... I was surprised and... excited. But at the same time I was also nervous because I didn't know how to react and... and there were a lot of thoughts in my head... "
Derek smiled encouragingly. "It's okay, Spencer. Kissing can be a pretty overwhelming experience, especially when it comes to feelings. But you know you can always come to me if you want to talk."
Spencer nodded slowly. "Yeah, thanks, Derek. I guess it's a new learning experience for me."
Derek patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, my friend. You'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe you'll be a kissing expert soon."
Spencer shook his head and laughed. "I think I'd rather focus on other areas of expertise."
The two men laughed together as they sat in their room. The friendship between them was strong and supportive, and they knew they could support each other through the turmoil of emotions. As they laughed at the conversation, Spencer felt more relaxed and confident about the changes that were happening in his life.
