Promise (Raphael X Reader)

The sun won't rise for a few hours. The bright lights of the city overshadow the stars and there's only a smile of the moon partially covered by clouds. We ran flew and ran toward the turtles. As we get to the manhole cover Starfire lifted it with ease. Venus and I jump down with Jason and Damian behind us. Raven and Starfire agreed to be lookout while we checked on them. Making us seem invisible we silently clear the living seeing no one and hearing not a single sound. Panic rose to chest but I took a shaking breath as we spilt up. Finding myself in Raphael's bed I let my exhausted body collapse into his familiar scent and the warmth of his blankets.

I woke up to Damian tapping me awake, "They're not here, plus it's been an hour." Scrambling up I scurry behind him following him out. "You guys need to stop drinking Venus's special wine. I get it doesn't have actual alcohol but you guys get so sleepy." Venus ignored it "We need to regroup." Ignoring the comment and trying to figure out what happened.

We were in Venus apartment looking for any signs of them. "I contacted April." Hearing her name made my head snap at Raven. "You got a hold of her?" I ask trying to cover up the jealousy I have but I knew Raven can read my emotions.
"It took awhile but eventually she got to back to me. She hasn't seen or heard from them since what happened. She thought they were with us. She says with what happened there's a chance an old enemy is behind this." Then she gave us a list of all their enemies. "We should spilt up." Damian suggested as he took an assignment. I shook my head "Too risky we don't know what they're capable of we should team up." I suggested "It'll take longer." Jason added I looked at him, "it might take longer but it's better if less of us go missing." Grabbing a random one I walk toward Starfire as she and Raven watch us. They didn't get to interact with the turtles much but I knew they were trying to understand our relationship to them. Raven coupled up with Damian leaving Jason with Venus. We separated to different parts of the apartment where had more information. Looking at what I grabbed from Raven, "okay we have Leather Head and the Rat King." I looked at mutant Aligator compared to petrified skinny man it seems like these two have been quiet for some time. It to seems if we find one we find the other as it looks like they like to hide in the same area.

"Who the fuck are you?" An angry cajun accent bellowed as we round the corner of this small swamp like national park." Based of what we found with Turtles intel he's a friend, Leatherhead was brainwashed by Shedder but since they saved him he mostly keeps to himself here. "We need help." Starfire started as she lights up the place with her brightly glowing hand. "And why should I help you." I scan the area hoping he doesn't try to attack but I attempted for us not to be visible but that may be difficult with Starfire glowing hand. "It's the turtles we can't find them, no one has heard from them for 2 days. Their home looks like they've been kidnapped." She explains calmly and as quickly as possible. There's a shift in the water. Snapping my head I see him walking toward us. "Show yourself." Putting down the illusion he examines us, "you two ain't normal." He looks at StarFire more closely. "I'm not of Earth I am what earth people call an Alien. I'm from Tamaran." She said proudly. His eyes shift to me, "Your the girlfriend of the hotheaded one." He says I had no idea that he kept up with them."Mikey likes to tell me everything." He rubs his temples I can't help but giggle, "Yea that sounds like Mikey. Have you seen them or heard from them?" I ask him. "Don't give me those puppy dog eyes. I didn't hear a thing, but I know someone who might help." He leads us who I hope is the Rat King. It seems like him and his daughter lived in an old forgotten home hidden in this park.

"You have company." Leatherhead barges in as a small girl runs up to him and hug him before she notices us. She's gotten bigger since the photos. She quickly ran back to Rat King. "What's going on?" He's protective not that I blame him. "That's Raphael's girlfriend and her friend StarFire. They're looking for them, they're missing." He explains for us which we happily allow him to as it seems they're close friends. "Go finish eating dinner." She shyly walks away before I hear the soft clanks of a spoon hit her bowl. "Let's go outside and talk." He tells us before leading us out. "I'm sorry for what's going on but I need to think about Rachel. I left her alone much too long when I became the Rat King. She needs her father." He told us. Victor was a scientist that just took it too far now he and his daughter are hiding. "Come on Vic they just need some eyes and ears. Why not send those rats and see where they could be?" Leatherhead mostly suggested than ask. With a deep sigh Rat King goes back inside before coming out with someone glowing. He uses it so summon so many rats I kinda froze as they scampered toward him. "Please go find any signs of our turtle friends." With that all scamper away. "I look at him, "So now what." "I'm going to enjoy my dinner with my daughter." With that we're left outside his door. Not what I expected to happen at all. Make me wonder if the others had the same experience or if they're fighting regretting all their life choices. "I'll come to you. I'm assuming you know where the lair is." He swaggers away into the water not waiting for an answer before going back into the depths of the lake. "Well I guess we should wait there and look for clues. We can send a message to everyone on where to meet us." Starfire began walking toward the entrance I look around as if an answer will magically appear. Following her direction I can only hope.

"(Y/n), Star we got your message." Jason's voice snap my attention away from Donnie's lab. "What happened?" I question them. "Eh just some mad scientist that V put to sleep while we download everything and went through it there before people noticed that they were missing." He shrugs before pulling out a laptop and a flash drive. "Yea Eric and Baxter weren't really threats but the body guards are mutants. Luckily it seems they're idiots." Venus added.
"Yea didn't take much to distract them but leading them to Hun was hard. It seems like they knew to stay away from him." Damian commented it seems like somehow everyone else got intertwined. "So anything?" I ask everyone as they go through documents or pull out photos from their phones. "Not really. It seems like everyone even the foot clan are scared to come out." Raven answered. "Yea all these plans are old and no one really commits crimes expect the foot clan. But basically crickets since well they kidnapped the turtles apparently they got scared after they were saved. All according to Hun and idiot guards Rocksteady and Bebop." Jason relayed the infomercial as he was getting it from everyone. "What about you guys?" Damian asked us. I looked at Starfire, "We got help from the rats, and a giant Aligator will come here once we receive an update." Starfire answered. "Somehow that sentence was shocking. I don't think Gotham was ever this crazy." Raven said with wide eyes. "(Y/n) I have some news for you." Leatherhead comes in rounding the entrance as if he's sneaking up to his prey. Scurrying to him, I await his response ignoring the stares, "We found them but Vic and I have never seen him before. They're unconscious at the moment I'm not sure what they're planning. There was a machine in the room they could used to brain wash them but who knows until I can see it for myself." He explains as he enters. I introduce him to everyone and we all went through everything we collected and what the turtles have who would want to hurt them.
