Promise (Raphael X Reader)

Sparring with the guys was fun. Although it was kinda weird that Barbs and Richard haven't been seen today. That was until we saw them in the study passed out on textbooks. After finding them in the study sleeping we went downstairs laughing happy we are not them right now.

Alright, time skip to night time.

The evening finally fell, the dark night sky replacing the once bright blue day. I am anxious, to say the least, I'm not sure what will happen tonight. Jason and Damian are out, doing what we promised we wouldn't. Raphael is coming over earlier today since he is supposedly grounded and not allowed go out on patrol, but I doubt he minds.
I'm in my bathroom unsure what to do. Should I wear makeup? I usually don't. I'll put on lip gloss and leave it at that. Not that I have makeup outside of lip gloss and lip balm.

My window creaks open from someone entering through it, "(y/n)?" I hear from my bedroom, the husky voice made me more nervous than before. I never really went on a date. Jason and I never really went on one then again most of the times we were enjoying each others company. "In the bathroom." I answered the muscular mutant that was ready to take me out on our first date as boyfriend and girlfriend. Before leaving the bathroom I calmed myself. Deep breaths leaving my body to quiet down some of my nerves, reminding myself we have been alone before. Turning into my bedroom. I take in Raphael. He didn't dress up or anything special, but the way he looked at me when he saw me made me froze for a second.
"Sorry, you look good... Uh I mean you always do but um wow." He sounded unsure like he is seeing me for the first time.
I giggle "where are we going?" I ask hoping I'm dressed okay.
"Sorry sweetheart that's a surprise." He scopes me up exiting us through the window and entering us into the night.

Stopping on a roof overlooking Central Park he put me down gently allowing me to take in the scenery before us. The night was chilly luckily I had a jacket with me. "This is beautiful." I say lowly taking in the area. The trees, lights and all the people still walking around as if it was daylight still, but the sun went down into the ocean crossing to the other side of the earth an hour ago.
"Come here." I heard behind me, a green hand is in front of me asking for mine. I place my hand into his as he grasps onto my hand tight. Following his lead, there is a little picnic set up for us. "How did you get this?" I question looking at my favorite wine along with grapes, and the main course looks like Chinese takeout.
"I may have taken the wine from your place. I hope you're not mad?" He asks me.
"No, it's just that you grabbed my favorite. It's sweet, Barbs likes her bitter." I explain.
"Good to know I swiped the right one." He smirks.
The night began with us clearly nervous but we soon laughed off all the anxiety knowing we were being nervous about something we did before as friends, eating, talking and with no one else around. After laughing the awkwardness away we sat there talking like any other day making all the anxiety vanish instantly. We sipped a glass of wine while placing the sweet grapes to each other lips.
He ordered our favorite Chinese takeout, "uh Raph, how did you get the food?" I question him. He looks at me, "I actually had a friend get it for me. It's a long story, but uh this friend of ours." A pause he is trying to think of a way to explain. "Their dad made us, so long story short they let us have some of the money that he had as well as his shares from stocks or somethin'. Meanin' we have money but since we aren't human we just have her go out for us to get things like food." He answers as best as he could. I nod then pause, "Wait, her?" I'm a bit taken back I didn't think he knew another girl.
He smirks, "Are you jealous, (y/n)?" His smile is playful ready to laugh or tease me.
"No, I'm not. I just didn't expect to hear 'her'." I explain myself hoping that he'll drop it. He moves closer to me a playful smile still teasing me. Taking control of the situation I kiss him. The kiss wasn't long, but it was sweet. Pulling away from Raphael we continue our rooftop picnic overlooking Central Park.

The rest of the night was uneventful. After the date, Raph brought me back home. As soon as Raphael left I began checking for Jason and Damian, they were still out. "Hey, (y/n) have you seen Jason or Damian?" Barbs ask behind me as I was about head back to my bedroom.
"Not since this afternoon. I think they said something about exploring the city and to be more specific they are looking for a skate park." I answer cooly. The boys ask me to cover for them. Although technically Barbs and Robin didn't say we couldn't go out at night. I prefer not to tell them that we decided to break the number one rule. Barbara accepting my answer went into her room for some much-needed rest. Her green eyes were dark from lack of sleep, seeing Richard and Barbara like that made me not want to go to school anymore. Going back to my path I enter my bedroom for sleep.
