Hay Is For Horses

I woke up the next morning to the smell of eggs and bacon. My mom greeted me with a wide smile like I was a new born walking for the first time." What?" I said. "Nuthin." Was her reply. I went outside after eating and right as I stepped out the door she said " don't forget your chores!" I walked to the ponies and feed and watered the stalls ones I just watered the pastured ones. Mom never cared that I didn't feed them. I went on my bissniss and walked to Danny to ride him but my mom stopped me in my tracks." Your forgetting something!" She said sarcastically I looked at her with a don't know what you mean look. After I stood there for hours or what felt like hours. I finally gave in and gave her a hug. When I left to get Danny ready for a ride. I was in the middle of tighting Danny's girth, my phone started to buzz and it was Ashley wanting to come over and ride the trails with me. I said that it was OK with me just for her to meet me by the oak woods trail behind my barn. I waited for 15 min. and she finnaly came troting over on her horse blue Jean. We started on the trail as we walked Ashley started to tell me how her annoying cusin Emma from the city was coming either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I was glad that she wasn't going to stay at my house with me.

When we had made it to the river we hopped of our horses and tied the reins to a tree and sat by the river on some rocks. I asked her why her cusin Emma was coming down. " Cause her mom thinks she need to work some and she thinks the ranch will be the best." She said. "Man hate to be you." I said mockingly. With that she turned around and got on her horse I did the same. "Race you back!" She yelled. "Ok!!" I yelled back at her when we took off Danny reared up and I nearly fell of of him but I grabbed his name. Ashley stopped dead in her tracks and turned back towards me but as she did I took off and beat her back. When I got back I stroked Danny's sweaty dun neck.

~~Ashley's POV~~

I saw Shelby and Danny behind me then I looked back and Danny was rearing I turned around to check on Shelby and she took off in front of me. Beating me back barly. Once we had got back my phone started to buzz. My mom was calling me to tell me my cusin was here. I start walking back home hoping that my cusin wasn't going to be all prissy and not help me with chores. I started to walk home well not walk but ride. When I got home I saw Emma I her pink faux fur coat and $300 cowboy boots that were fake. She also had miss me jeans and a designer shirt. She was staring me down probably looking at my clothes witch are just a razor back jersey and jeans I've been wearing for a week. My mom yells at her to help me do chores she just stares blankly at me. We walked into the barn when she spotted blue Jean standing in her stall looking buetiful. "I want to ride her!" Emma said happily. "Ummmm No!" I clearly stated back that she was mine and that no one but me and Shelby rides here. Emma was about to cry cause that's how she gets her way but I told her to suck it up and help me do some chores I told her to give hay to all the horses while I mucked out their stalls. When I finished Emma was just sitting on a hay bale. She had done absolutely nothing. She got up when she sawe and walked to a pile of hay witch I then shoved her into. She ran out of the barn crying so.loudly I swore Dallas heard her.
