A few months later, the Omatikaya are full of peace and joy as they feast.
Jake and Neytiri sit in their usual spots, Neteyam playing with a Neytiri's tail, giggling in delight.
Jake holds Kiri and she plays with his dreadlocks, swatting them playfully.
Neteyam and Kiri have eaten but their younger brother has not, in fact Lo'ak could not be less interested in the food.
Neytiri tries to get a stubborn Lo'ak to eat but he is having none of it.
"Come on, please Lo'ak, you need to eat.." Neytiri says softly.
"No!" Lo'ak says in protest and chews his own tail.
"Eat your food." Jake commands.
Neteyam and Kiri stare at their dad while Lo'ak drops his tail.
"No." Lo'ak says in protest again.
"You can say 'no' all you want, but you are eating." Jake says firmly.
Lo'ak looks down, his little tail tucked under himself. His ears flatten against his head as he scowls, eyes fixed on his plate. A stubborn stance.
"No!" Lo'ak repeats, crossing his arms tightly across his chest, his gaze shifting to his dad in that little, defiant way he has.
Jake raises an eyebrow before he gently sets Kiri down and leans over, poking Lo'ak's stomach, annoying him relentlessly.
Lo'ak's expression grows more scrunched up and stubborn, but he's distracted from his plate for long enough as his dad continues to poke, to protest.
"Eugh!" Lo'ak exclaims.
"Knock it off, dad!" Lo'ak grumbles.
"Are you going to eat?" Jake asks, pausing with his pokes.
Lo'ak crosses his arms and keeps silent, refusing to even look up. Determined to resist, to avoid, to just ignore Jake.
Jake being a father who loves his children dearly, isn't going to give up the fight so easily.
So, Jake pokes Lo'ak's stomach relentlessly.
"Are you going to eat yet?" Jake asks over and over, using the tactic of annoying his child.
Lo'ak growls under his breath while Neytiri, Neteyam and Kiri watch in amusement.
"Stop doing that!" Lo'ak protests.
But each new protest is only met with a flurry of new pokes from Jake.
"What?? Are those pokes bothering you? You know how to make it stop, you know what to do." Jake reminds his youngest son.
Lo'ak scowls.
"Eat." Jake says sternly.
"No!" Lo'ak protests, shaking his head adamantly.
"Then the poking will continue." Jake tells him, still continuing regardless of the protest.
Lo'ak scowls, a whine escaping him in frustration, but the more annoyed he gets, the more his stomach grumbles.
Jake raises his eyebrow and narrows his eyes, his expression turning to amusement.
"Your belly seems to be hungry." Jake says, smirking.
