As the sun rises, Jake and Neytiri are cooking breakfast. Kiri blinks her eyes open, groggily sitting up and stretching out her limbs. She can hear the faint sounds of Jake and Neytiri cooking breakfast in the distance, the sizzle of food and soft conversation filling the air.
Kiri rubs her eyes, still a little sleepy, but the delicious scent of food begins to rouse her from her morning grogginess. She glances over at the other hammocks, curious to see if any of her siblings and Mä'zu had woken up yet.
Neteyam, Mä'zu, and Lo'ak are still asleep, however Tuk is wide awake and out of her own hammock.
Kiri notices Tuk already up and about while the others are still fast asleep. Kiri swings her legs out of her hammock, however she does not yet get out.
"Good morning, Tuk. You're up early." Kiri greets the young girl with a stifled yawn.
"Kiri! You're awake!" Tuk says excitedly, hopping over to her sister and tugging on her arm for her to get up.
"Hurry up! I'm hungry and I want to eat nowww!" Tuk says, practically hanging on Kiri's arm as she urges her to get up faster.
Kiri can't help but chuckle at Tuk's eagerness and impatience. The young girl's enthusiasm is both endearing and slightly annoying at the same time.
"Alright, alright, I'm getting up." Kiri says, gently untangling Tuk's hands from her arm and sitting up in her hammock.
Kiri casts a brief glance at the other sleeping figures and sighs quietly.
"But we need to let the others wake up too, and Mum and Dad need to finish cooking." Kiri stares.
Tuk groans loudly, her previous excitement turning to frustration at the thought of having to wait even longer to eat. She pouts and crosses her arms, looking up at Kiri with a petulant expression on her face.
And then, suddenly, Tuk's expression shifts to mischievous.
"Dibs on waking Mä'zu up! You're waking up our brothers." Tuk declares.
Kiri raises an eyebrow, amused by Tuk's change of demeanor. Kiri has a good feeling about what the young girl has planned.
"Alright, you deal with Mä'zu then." Kiri says, grinning slyly.
"But don't get yourself into too much trouble with her, okay? And as for the boys, I'll handle them." Kiri adds.
Tuk's face breaks into a wide grin.
"Deal!" Tuk exclaims, a sparkle in her eyes.
Tuk makes her way over to Mä'zu's hammock, Tuk's eyes filled with mischief and excitement. But, as she stands next to it, she soon realises that the hammock was a tad too out of her reach, Mä'zu's hammock set up higher on her support beams compared to Tuk's own hammock.
Tuk crinkles her brow in annoyance and with a frustrated huff, she jumps up and grabs hold of one side of the hammock, hoping to pull herself up. But as soon as she pulls, the hammock shifts and tilts, causing both Mä'zu and Neteyam to shift slightly as well.
Tuk quickly lets go of the hammock, knowing she had accidentally caused the tilt. She watches with wide eyes as the hammock rocks back into place, Mä'zu and Neteyam remaining blissfully asleep within.
Tuk looks over at her own smaller hammock nearby, then back at Mä'zu's, contemplating what to do. After a moment of thought, Tuk makes her decision.
Tuk takes a few steps back to gather her strength, then with a determined look, she runs foward and takes a leaping jump once close enough to Mä'zu's hammock.
