A few weeks of Jake and Neytiri, along with Neteyam and Lo'ak learning how to properly ride their water mounts go by... however, no matter how much Neytiri tries, she can't seem to be able to keep the bond with the Ilu. And Jake hasn't quite gotten the hand of it just yet.

So, today, not wanting Ronal to think Neytiri is completely helpless, she attempts something new.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neytiri flies her Ikran closely over the water while Ronal watches on her Ilu, unsure what Neytiri's plans are exactly.
Neytiri adjusts her hold on the borrowed spear, gripping it tightly in her hands. She takes a deep breath, steeling herself for the water that's waiting for her below. With a determined look on her face, she leaps off the back of her Ikran, diving into the water with a skilled motion.
Ronal's eyes widen in surprise as Neytiri jumps off her Ikran and into the water with the spear. Ronal urges her Ilu under the water and watches Neytiri closely.
Ronal's eyes go wide in surprise and disbelief as she watches Neytiri gracefully leap off her Ikran, diving into the water like a fish. Ronal quickly urges her Ilu to follow Neytiri below the surface, unable to tear her gaze away from the Omatikaya woman's actions.
Under the water, Neytiri swiftly brings the spear down, driving it through the body of a nearby fish with perfect precision. The fish squirms for a moment before going still, impaled on the spear.
Ronal is thoroughly impressed, as she watches Neytiri take out the fish with perfect accuracy. Ronal had underestimated the Omatikaya woman, assuming that Neytiri knew nothing about water hunting because she was from the forest. But her skills are undeniable, and Ronal can't help but feel a touch of respect for Neytiri.
Neytiri's Ikran comes into the water and swims over to her and she quickly mounts her Ikran, surfacing once again and holding her spear with the fish on it proudly.
Ronal resurfaces not long after and she stares at Neytiri, impressed and a little amazed by how skilled she is, even underwater. Ronal hesitates, a part of her wanting to praise Neytiri for her skills but the other part of Ronal is unable to fully let go of her stubborn pride so she stays silent.
In the same spot Tonowari has been training Jake for all these weeks, the water is calm and still. That is until..
Jake lets out a triumphant yell as he bursts through the water's surface, his hands gripping the saddle tightly as his Skimwing soars above the water. He has finally succeeded in taming it, after many days of trying.
Tonowari urges his own Skimwing forward to meet Jake, Tonowari's face filled with pride and respect for what the Sully has just achieved.
Tonowari studies Jake's position on the saddle, and while at first, Tonowari had been unsure if the forest man would adapt to the water, Jake has proven he is more capable than even Tonowari expected.
Tonowari's lips curve into a small smile, unable to hide his respect and as Jake looks over, meeting Tonowari's eyes, the Metkayina Olo'eytkan gives Jake a proud nod.
Jake grins back at Tonowari, Jake's heart swelling with pride and feeling a sense of accomplishment. He had worked hard to get to this point, to learn from the Metkayina and embrace their way of life. And now, he knows he has gained more than just a new skill. He has earned a new friend, Tonowari.
Ao'nung and Tuk are elsewhere as Neteyam, Mä'zu, Kiri, Lo'ak, Tsireya and Rotxo sit on a small rock island in a circle, today's lesson focused lesson is on how to 'hold their breath' underwater, Neteyam gently swaying from side to side without realising it.
"Breathe in." Tsireya instructs and demonstrates, the Omatikaya teens following her example.
"And breathe out." Tsireya says after a moment, prompting the Omatikaya teens to let out a slow breath.
