Escape [Jack Gilinsky] - HIATUS

Chapter 17.

''Good morning babe'' Jack wakes me up, running his thumb through my cheek. I smile when I open my eyes and see his face. Memories from last night float through my mind and I throw my arms around his neck. ''Wow, if you're going to be like this every time I wake you up then it's worth it.'' He gently locks our lips and I can feel him smiling through the kiss. ''You're the best thing that has happened to me this year, seriously'' He says against my hair, holding me close in his arms.

''I can't believe you are my boyfriend'' I sigh and blush. Having him with me is the best thing that has happened to me lately if not ever really. ''Why are you already dressed it's 7 a.m'' I say as I check the time on my phone. 

''I need to fly to Nebraska. We'll be starting  the tour in two days.'' He looks down and a knot forms on my throat. I knew it as coming, I just didn't thought it would be this fast. ''Hey, don't be sad. Good thing is I'll be home for Christmas and we could spend New Year's Eve together.'' He lifts my chin up and places a soft kiss in my forehead. The thought of spending such an important event with Jack makes my stomach hurt in the best way possible. 

''We need to talk about our relationship. Do you want to take this to public or you wanna keep it low-key for now?'' I ask as I get up from bed and we both leave the room to walk to the kitchen. 

''I don't know, whatever makes you feel more comfortable. We just have to find our rhythm you know?'' He runs his fingers through his hair. ''I'm new at this department.'' He raises his hands up and I laugh. 

''I would like if we could take this slowly, firstly telling to our family and friends and then hang out in public as a couple.'' I know he has fans and they will eventually hate me, so I want to manage this and do it in the best way possible. 

''As long as we're together, it's fine with me'' He intertwines our fingers and kisses my lips calmly, bringing me to his arms after that. ''We'll you take me to the airport?'' He asks as we go down stairs to the kitchen. 

''Of course, but we need to be careful. No PDA'' He laughs and I make us some french toasts. He tells me about the tour and how excited he is to start showing the public his own songs. Meanwhile Taylor joins us with a sleepy face and dressed in her pajamas. 

''Hey cuties'' She smiles and then her eyes glance to our intertwined fingers. ''Oh my god you guys are together. I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN.'' She says and jumps, hugging me. ''I want details'' I look at Jack and we both chuckle but we end up telling her about last night.

Jack's P.O.V

The trip to the airport is silent, with Claudia feet in my lap and my free hand rubbing her thigh. I can feel a little tension between us. She doesn't like the idea of me leaving, I know it and i feel the same. Being without her will kill me. I park her car outside and stare at the grey sky through the glass and let go a breath I didn't realize I was holding. The spot is desert so it's safe to be here.

''Come here babe'' I say and pull her into my arms the better I can in this tiny little space. ''I don't want to leave you but it's my job, it's what makes me happy. Remember when you got this job?'' She nods and lays her head on my shoulder. ''I wasn't happy either because you would be away from me but then, when I saw you face timing the boys, with that giant cup of black coffee and that bright smile in your face I wished  had been supportive because nothing makes me more happy than being yourself happy.'' I kiss her nose and I can feel her smiling against the skin of my neck. 

''How did you know it was black coffee?'' She raises her brow at me.

''Because you are you.'' I point out and run my fingers through her hair messing it all over. We climb out of the car and walk inside, being as discreet as possible, with black hoodies and shades. We walk fast till we reach the boarding zone. ''So...'' I turn around to face it.

''I'm gonna miss you so fucking much.'' She throws her little arms around my neck and I lift her a little. 

''I'm so crazy about you. Please try to visit me, we need to talk. There are so many things I still want to tell you. But please, trust me. I need you to trust me.'' I speak into her ear.

''I do Jack, I swear I do.'' I hug her a little tighter. ''You need to go.'' I small tear falls from her eyes and she cleans it with the sleeve of her black hoodie. 

''Hey, don't. Don't cry, I can't see you cry. Not again.'' I tug her hair being her ear. ''Here, keep it'' I take my watch from my wrist and put it on hers. ''Just so you have something mine. I'll see you in a few weeks.'' I move to kiss her forehead but she surprises me by taking my face between her hands, crashing hers lips in mine. The familiar fire quickly ignites all over my body and I need to fight the urge of move hers hands to her butt and lift her up. 

''I don't care about them. It's you and me, against the world.'' I hug her one last time and walk away, trying not to look back. 

Just as I'm about about to step inside of the plain I look back and I can feel my heart breaking in millions of pieces as I see her cleaning her tears from her red soaked face.
