Chapter Four

*Ember's POV*

I blinked my eyes groggily and stretched my sore muscles. Wait, where am I? I thought, confusticated. (Sorry, I love that word, mostly because I made it up. Its a varietive of confused.) I looked at my surroundings. If I didn't know better, this looks like my house! But I do; Seto doesn't know where I live...or does he? Is he a stalker? I shivered and called, "Mom?" If it wasn't my mom, I could just pretend I was delirious. I heard footsteps coming towards me.

"Yes, dear?" It was her. My own mother. I stood up and felt something warm beneath me. Felt like human...and then he groaned.

"Can you...get off?" Seto wheezed.

"Oops, uh, sorry," I chuckled. I ran to my mother and hugged her.

"Young lady, you have a lot of explaining to do," she gave me a withering look after our embrace. Then Fern walked into her room, gesturing for me to follow. I turned back to look at Seto. He cocked his head and I drew a line across my neck with my finger. He gulped and I ran into my mom's room.

She slammed the door. "You go off somewhere on your own and I hear you turned into a dog and set someone's house on fire and then you show up with a boy?!" My mother gushed angrily.

"It's not what it looks like!" I gaped.

"Then what is it? If it's anything not innocent, you are in deep, deep doodoo, young woman," Mother shook her finger at me. (Hehe I love the deep doodoo thing parents do...except when it's directed at me...its retarded yet effective!)

"I was just playing a prank...I turned into a dog and walked until I found a house. It worked, and a young guy came out with a bone as soon as I whimpered. Then I shape-shifted back to my normal form, and he ran off because he's awkward and gave me room to change. I put my dress on and lit it and he came out and told a dumb joke. I flicked my fire tears off of, not thinking about the fact that his house was made of wood, and it was burning, so I went to get water, and then a creeper exploded," I took a breath, "so I fell in and almost died. Then Seto rescued me and somehow carried me here, but I don't know if he's magic or a stalker..."

"Well, I didn't need such a blabbered explanation, but you didn't do anything that bad, except for burning someone's house down, you only deserve a spanking."

"No, mom, don't do this-," I backed into a wall with a grunt. She swiftly turned me around and smacked me hard on the bumper. I'm sure my howl of agony woke Seto up from his deep slumber.

*Seto's POV*
I heard a scream of pain coming from the other room. "Ember!" I yelled and barged through the door. Ember was whimpering on the floor while her mother looked down at her disapprovingly. When Ember saw me, she flushed bright red and ran out of the room limping. "Um, what did you do to her?" I asked Fern.

"...It's best not to say," Fern mumbled. Abruptly I heard a knock on the door.

"Who could it be?" I asked. I was soon to find out.

*TIME LAPSE*

*Romani's POV*
"Peterson! Stop shooting at me, you naughty boy!" I scolded my adopted son playfully and took to the air, flying like the blaze my mother was.

Dad, when will I get to meet Ember? Peterson asked excitedly. His older sister was an idol to him, and I sighed.

"She's going to a school called Sorcery Academy for a year or too, but on breaks I'll take her to the Nether to visit you!"

I'm so excited; I can't wait to meet her! Peterson gushed, his face tilting in the rare smile ghasts don't normally show.

"I know, m'boy." I came up to him and rubbed his head. "I've got to get supplies, son. Meet me at the portal later."

Okay, Dad! See ya there! Peterson wiggled a tentacle at me and flew away.

I was in the middle of mining when I heard a noise. A wither skeleton walked by. I immediately shot it with a fireball. It flinched in surprise and set off towards me, sword in hand. I drew my own sword and we battled until he died. I pixked up his head.

Soon, I had three skulls and I was exhausted. I placed the heads on some random soul sand, but I didn't know that they were in the right position to make a Wither! I woke from my nap on the Netherrack to a ferocious screech. The Wither was charging at me!
