Let's meet.
One simple text. One meaningful sentence. Halwyn looked at it several times before he was convinced of the validity of the words. It was Nia. He was certain it was her. The number wasn't registered and the person didn't even introduce themselves.
"Please, don't go," Cadi pleaded. They were still in his living room, trying to convince Hal to not think about anything else and lay low.
But Hal wasn't the kind of person to just stay put. He wasn't that so much of an outgoing but he disliked being overly dramatic either. Even when the drama was following him everywhere he went.
"I need to," he decided. "At least, I need to know how much damage she can do."
Eurig let go of a deep sigh. "What for? She can do whatever she wants, Hal. I don't think she needs permission from you."
The expression on Hal's face was a clear indication of his choice and when they were certain that couldn't change their mind, Max offered, "Maybe we should go with you. In case the meeting turns violent then you'll have backup."
"Are you kidding?" Steffan pointed out, "Hal's like three heads taller than her, Nia is the one who needs backup!"
Hal chuckled briefly before putting the phone back inside the pocket of his jogging pants and putting on a white pullover. "It'll be quick."
"Where's the meeting place?"
He stopped short to see Eurig standing before him, like an overprotective mother. "Don't follow."
"We won't!" The smaller male snapped, "But it's good to know where you're going too. In case she murdered you, we know where to start looking for your body."
Frowning slightly, he told him the place of meeting and walked past him, towards the door. He turned around to see his friends staring at him, their expressions were a variety of emotions. He swore, "I'll be back. It won't take long. Promise."

Linda Pryce blinked several times as she read the email of her client over and over. She even called in her secretary Fiona, who also read the contents for her. The email came from Nia Hier, her son's ex-fiancée. A month ago, Aidan asked her to help the woman get a divorce from her husband whom she accused of physical and mental abuse. She accepted it as a favor for her son and even wondered if Aidan was considering getting back with her. Imagine her surprise when Aidan came out, finally admitting that it was Halwyn he wanted all along.
"I can't believe this woman fired one of the toughest, highest-paid barristers in the country," Fiona couldn't help commenting, placing a cup of tea in front of her.
Fiona had been her secretary for a long time and was only a few years younger than her. She was never married and was loyal to the Pryce family. Linda was eternally grateful that she stayed in the firm and waited for the mother and son to return to Europe after staying in America for a year to mourn the loss of her husband and Aidan's father.
Linda exhaled and took a sip of her tea. "I have seen this happen in my mind, I just didn't think it would happen soon."
"She must've everything planned," Fiona said. "Do you think she's telling the truth about her husband?"
"Well, aside from her spoiled princess nature...I believe her. She was forced into a marriage in order for her parents to close a deal. They were bankrupt even before they ran to America. Ironically, Aidan never crossed paths with her in that place. My intel stated her family wouldn't let her out of their sight since she tried escaping before."
