Verse 08: Somebody's Somebody

"Are you an idiot or a masochist? What are you doing?"

After the incident with Aidan, Hal immediately called for an emergency discussion with his so-called "family" in his office. It was supposed to be a mature conversation to talk about various problems that they dealt with every day of their lives. Or perhaps the group already had an idea of how "serious" this discussion could be since they all saw Aidan in the company earlier.

Halwyn didn't hold back and told them everything, even the stupid decision he came up with and how his whole being malfunctioned and that his mouth moved first before his brain could think of a proper solution. Of course, Maxen was the first to criticize the decision and Hal had no choice but to accept his judgment.

To be fair, Maxen was an utter genius at all things to do with money and career but utter nonsense at all things to do with men and relationships.

"I panic," he said. "I blanked out and I didn't know what to say."

Eurig took a sip of his ice latte first before responding. Among his friends, his opinion was more reasonable if not hurtful. Too hurtful. "You could've ignored him, Hal. Tell him you didn't know her."

"That won't stop him. I think Aidan's resolute to find this girl."

Steffan, the all-out homosexual since birth winced when he heard him say this. "This girl? You mean, to find you, right? Have you forgotten that you're that girl?"

"No!"

"Then stop talking like she's another person."

"Wait, we're being sidetracked right now," Cadi, whose head was always filled with thoughts about her girlfriend tried to give a piece of incisive advice on the matter concerning Hal, "Are you seriously considering showing up in front of Aidan as this girl, Gwen?"

Halwyn was flustered and looked down. "It should be the last time. I showed up and give him this nasty, bitchy side of this Gwen and I'm sure Aidan will be done with her."

Maxen scoffed. "How can you be so sure?"

"I've been friends with the man since childhood," Hal pointed out. "I know his type and I even know what irks him."

Max threw his hands up in the air seemingly giving up. Eurig spoke, "So, you need our help for this, don't you?"

"Especially YOU," Hal emphasized, referring to Eurig. "You're the one who created the physical beauty of that girl. I need you for this."

"I see no problem with that. But Hal, are you sure this is the last time this is going to happen?"

"Yes, I promise..."

"Don't make promises," Eurig mildly scolded. "You know when people make promises they tend to break it. A lot. Let's just do whatever we need to do and hopefully, this will be the last time that Aidan will meet Gwenith Bach."

Hal must've been cursed since childhood or perhaps it started when he met Aidan. When did he start having feelings with his childhood friend who used to be a known bully in their school? He couldn't remember it anymore. The only thing he recalled was the emotion involved when he realized that Aidan was someone special.

"Who's the girl?" A young Halwyn asked his best friend Aidan Pryce when he arrived at school with a pretty blonde in his arms.

Aidan smirked and waved his hand to a group of females before addressing Hal, who look rather pissed. "Just a random girl I met yesterday."

"A random girl?" Hal replied as they walked together to the classroom. "Geez, random girls even flung themselves to you. Should we bet how long she's going to last?"
