I'm baaaaack! Refreshed and ready to write.
Thanks for all your reads, votes and comments while I was away. It means the world.
As always, let me know what you think about this one.
Also, I would like to give the biggest shoutout to @AutumnsWhisper for this STUNNING book cover. I absolutely adore it and feel it captures Anakin and Kels's vibe perfectly (down to her berry lipstick). Do yourself a favor and check out her Anakin fics, her writing is next level.
Thank you <3

I needed to say something, to get answers.
So, despite my red-rimmed eyes and frazzled nerves, I forced myself through the hallway and towards the training room once the clock struck midnight. I promised myself I wouldn't cry in front of him; I had done enough of that. Instead, I would walk in there, with my head held high and I would speak my mind.
My heart ached at the images of Anakin flirting with Padme. The way his hand slipped around her waist so naturally, the way he whispered into her ear, the way he so boldly referenced a night they spent together in Naboo. All in front of me. Not even 24 fucking hours after I allowed myself to be vulnerable and intimate with him in a way I never have with anyone else before. I let my guard down and trusted him, only for him to show me how little it meant to him all within the same day.
It was difficult to not fall into familiar patterns of low self-esteem. I found myself dismissing my own pain as just being naïve or delusional. In what world would Anakin Skywalker owe me anything? What right do I have to be upset? But just as quickly, I thought about what Payto would think.
No Jedi is better than you, Kels. He would say to me. Always making sure to remind me of my worth.
And that thought alone fueled me forward, one step at a time. On my way to confront Anakin Skywalker about fucking with my feelings.
He was already there when I arrived. His back was facing me as he looked out the large window in front of him down at the city below. He was so incredibly still with his hands clasped gently behind his back. I wondered how long he had been here.
I was already breaking my promise to myself and had to grit my teeth to keep the tears at bay once I laid eyes on him. I made sure to keep my mental barrier tight.
My feet brushed against the training mat, causing Anakin to stiffen as he turned to slowly face me. He wore a hard expression, lips pressed into a flat line and a subtle v forming between his darkened eyes.
My breath caught in my throat and I pressed my shaking hands into my sides as I raised my chain slightly to meet his gaze. We stood like that for a few moments, and as the seconds passed, I felt the heaviness in my chest grow.
