Hellooooo. Just as surprised about this update as you may be. This was unplanned but I couldn't resist a spicy morning scene. Consider it a gift ;)

Warning: smut

Really wanted a chapter that built on the passion and chemistry between Kels & Anakin. I think this does the trick. Hope you all enjoy <3

Serious shit will go down soon.

Waking up to the heat was new.

Back on Coruscant climate is intentionally controlled down to the exact specification. My living space was designed to perfectly accommodate my ideal human temperature. Occasional illness aside, I rarely found myself shivering or sweating in my sleep.

But here on Tatooine, the old air-cooling unit sputtering in the corner was doing little to temper the rising heat, despite its best efforts. However, I still couldn't find the desire to pull away from Anakin whose heavy arm was draped lazily over my waist, keeping my back pressed to his chest as he slept soundly. He didn't seem affected by it. In fact, it was as if the desert air lulled him further to sleep.

It made sense. A man so intense and fiery by nature, of course he'd thrive in the heat.

I pressed my eyes shut, hoping to will away the infiltrating beams of scorching sunlight. My hope was that if I ignored the uncomfortable intrusion, I could steal a few more hours of sleep. We had gotten back late last night, stumbling into Watto's repair shop as we made every effort to keep our hands on each other and our lips connected.

It was as if we couldn't bear to be separated. Each kiss and touch represented an opportunity to lay claim to each other's hearts, to memorize each other's very soul. The previous night's confessions and moments of vulnerability seemed to tie our life forces together in a way that would be impossible to untangle. It finally felt like nothing was left standing between us. The emotions we kept at bay overwhelmed and destroyed the barriers previously erected to keep our hearts safe.

I'm not foolish. I know there was still much left to discuss and figure out. However, for the first time I was positively sure we'd fight for a future together. And it felt so gods damned good to be sure about that.

From here on out, there was no me without him. No him without me.

It was absolutely, mind-numbingly terrifying. But it is also the most thrilling, soul-awakening thing I have ever experienced.

When we eventually found our way to the spare room upstairs, it wasn't long before we collapsed onto the bed and welcomed sleep wrapped up in each other's arms. That is if you could call this glorified cot a bed. Anakin had insisted we stay out of Watto's better furnished bedroom, wanting to create some sort of distance between him and his former owner. I didn't mind where we slept as long as I was next to him. And in fact, I was grateful to avoid any room where that cruel excuse of a toydarian lays his head at night. Imagine the nightmares...and the stench

A small smile pulled at my lips at the memory of Anakin stripping down to his briefs, his beautifully carved torso accentuated by the dim lighting. He had insisted I wear one of his loose, short-sleeved undershirts to bed, claiming my usual sleep pants and shirt would be too hot. At the time I simply enjoyed the idea of wearing his clothes to bed, but this morning heat proves he wasn't joking about the sharp increase in temperature brought on by daylight.

Shifting slightly to free my arm, I brought my hand up to sweep my hair off my neck. Exhaling softly at the momentary relief as the dry air danced across the damp skin on the back of my neck. Only then did I feel Anakin stir slightly behind me. As if by instinct, his arms tightened around my waist and pulled me even closer into him so that his body curled perfectly into the contours of mine. My heart swelled when I felt him press a soft kiss onto the back of my head.
