"Would you like anything else with that?"
"Nope, that will be all."

Camila Cabello smiled at the customer in front of her, taking the money from their outstretched hand. It was getting close to closing time at Gennaro's Pizzeria, and she couldn't want to get home and finally watch Netflix. Working long shifts was natural to her now, especially now that she had to pay off her student loans. College wasn't cheap, and with her strict Cuban parent's constant reminders, it was hard to forget.

Suddenly, she heard the bell by the front door jingling. "Ready to go, Chancho?" She instantly recognized her best friend Dinah's voice, and whipped her head around.

Surely enough, Dinah was leaning against the wall, looking completely exhausted. Which was nothing new, even though she had only walked from their shared apartment about two blocks away.

"Almost," the brunette replied, checking the clock on the wall. 9:55. For once, Dinah was right on time. She hated walking home to their apartment alone, especially at this hour, since they live so far downtown.

She peeked out the window, saw no one was heading inside, and started turning counting the money in the registers. "Did you order dinner like I asked you to?"

"The Chinese is already on it's way, just like the princess requested," Dinah replied, only half joking. Camila rolled her eyes, but thanked her friend sincerely, subtly handing her a few garlic knots leftover - Dinah's favorite.

After the smaller girl locked up, the two friends started heading towards their apartment.
"How was work today?" Dinah asked.

"The usual," she replied, sighing briefly to herself. "You know how creepy those men can be sometimes. They can barely control what comes out of their mouth."

"Girl I know what you mean. I thought they would've stopped once they realized that you're attracted to girls," she said, sticking a huge garlic knot into her mouth.

"You would think, right? Meanwhile, all it does is encourage them even more. You don't even want to know the things that they've been saying."

"Psh, and I call you the chancho! What a bunch of animals."

They walked in a comfortable silence for a little while, simply enjoying each other's company.

"How was work today for you?" Camila asked.
"Not too bad. Although I did get an interview for the frozen yogurt place on 21st!"

Dinah also worked a lot, just like Camila. Since Dinah is the first in her family to go to college, she knew that she had to work extra hard to stay in college. Even if that included working two jobs while maintaining straight A's in their school's honors program.

"I'm so proud of you! I can't believe this is actually happening for us. Who knew two losers in Miami would be such superstars in New York City?"

Dinah laughed. "Superstars? I don't think so, Chancho. Maybe in a few years. Or maybe when you stop tossing pizzas for a living."

Camila laughed right along with her. Even though she may not admit it out loud, she knew that she could do so much better than work at the pizzeria. But a job was a job and money was money, so at the end of the day, she couldn't complain. Plus, she could bring home leftovers, so why not?

They slowly began to approach their building, when suddenly they heard footsteps close behind them. Camila turned around, and noticed a person dressed in all black walking faster and faster towards them.

"Dinah?" She whispered.
"What? Why are you whispering?"
"I think someone's following us."
"Psh, not on my watch."

Dinah whipped her head around faster than the words came out, and she was almost nose to nose with the unidentified person. She started breathing heavily.

"Empty your pockets," the voice said, in a deep, raspy voice.

Camila looked around nervously, realizing there was no one around. Living on 8th street and avenue A, especially near the projects, she always heard about people getting mugged, but she never thought it would be her or her friend. She was frozen in her footsteps, and apparently so was Dinah.

"Uh...uh...."

The person got even closer to the taller girl, seeming to enjoy the fact that she intimidated her.

"I said, empty your pockets. What, do you foreigners not speak English or something?"

Well, that got Dinah talking.

"Are you fucking kidding me? You have no idea what I've been-"

Her voice was cut off instantly with the connection of the person's hand with her face. The person started reaching into Dinah's purse, since the taller girl was caught off guard at last.

Camila suddenly came to life, and was filled with adrenaline. The smaller girl punched the attacker directly in the face, and started to do it over and over again. Finally, their attacker was on the floor, and she noticed a car arriving in the distance. The sirens turned on at this point.

"Great fucking timing," Camila muttered.

She struggled keeping the attacker underneath her, and finally decided to take a look at their face. Surprisingly, the person underneath her was a girl, probably around her age. She just started noticing her bright green eyes when a police officer grabbed her from behind.

"How many times am I going to have to find you here, huh, Jauregui?" The cop asked, angrily. "I'm sick and tired of dragging your ass to my precinct. But yet, here we are again."

Now that she was standing up, Camila got a good look at her. Long, black hair, with pale skin and full lips. Her eyes were such a powerful green, that it was almost impossible to look away. She had an emotionless look on her face, staring intently into the police officer's eyes, almost unblinking. The taller girl didn't look afraid or intimidated, at all. If anything, the cop looked a little intimidated by the girl.

"Sorry about this, ladies. Hey, is your friend okay?" The cop continued to ask her. His partner was putting handcuffs on the young criminal at this time.

Camila was so distracted by the other girl that she didn't even take a look at Dinah yet. For a tough girl, she did not take that punch well. Dinah had tears streaming down her face, and was still shaking, regardless of the summer heat.

"Y-y-y-yes, officer. I'm okay," the taller girl said, trying to contain her composure. She quickly wiped her tears away, as the younger girl didn't cry very often.

"I believe you should get checked out at the hospital anyway, you know, just to make sure." He said, taking a look at her nose. "Just to make sure she didn't break anything on that pretty little face of yours. I'll hail you girls a cab." That got Dinah to smile a little bit, and she agreed.

Camila rolled her eyes. Of course Dinah would get hit on at the scene of the crime, Camila thought to herself.

The cop's partner decided to wait with the girls until they were able to catch a cab, and made sure that they got inside safely.

Camila put an arm around Dinah for the entire ride, and looked out the window, not believing what had just happened. Even though she should have been more concerned about her friend, her mind wandered off to the girl who hit Dinah in the first place.

Who is that girl, and why was she so intrigued by her? Why did she approach them in the first place? Why didn't she fight Camila back? And most importantly.. Why did she look so familiar?
