"And then this little once right here came out from behind me and clapped the girl right across the face like BAM! The girl was so caught off guard that she essentially stopped what she was doing altogether, and then the cops showed up. I mean, it would've been nice if they were around BEFORE I almost got mugged, but hey, you can't have everything, ya know?

It was the day after the mugging incident, and Dinah was explaining what happened to her best friend, Normani, at the girl's apartment.

The three girls were sitting around in their living room, eating the Chinese food from last night. Since they got home rather late since Camila had to bring Dinah to the hospital, neither of them had an appetite.

"Holy shit," said Normani, with her jaw practically on the floor. "I didn't think you had it in you, Mila!"

Camila rolled her eyes. "Please. I may look tiny, but I could definitely fuck somebody up."

Dinah and Normani exchanged looks, then instantly broke out into laughter.

"Yeah, okay. Suuuuure," they said, still unable to stop laughing.

"Are you seriously going to say that after what happened last night?"

"Chancho, that's called an adrenaline rush," Dinah explained, starting to calm down. "Are you telling me that if we were to fight right now, that you would win?"

Camila laughed. "I'm not saying that. But I'm also not about to try to fight you, considering your face is still messed up."

Dinah rolled her eyes dramatically, sighing to herself. "Whatever you say, little one. Whatever helps you sleep at night."

Dinah and Normani continued their conversation for a little while, until they realized that Camila was sort of.. distant. She would respond at the right times and laugh when it was appropriate, but something was definitely off.

"Why the long face, Mila?" Dinah asked, puzzled. "Are you upset about your little girlfriend being dragged away in handcuffs last night?"

Camila's neck snapped up. "Girlfriend? What are you talking about?"

"Listen, chancho. I know that you punched her, and I'm grateful for that. However, last night I may have been injured, but I definitely wasn't blind. I saw the way you were looking at her."

"I wasn't looking at her."

"Are you really about to lie straight to my face right now?"

At that point, the room was absolutely silent. Dinah and Normani were eagerly staring at Camila, awaiting her response.

Camila slowly became more and more nervous. She didn't think that anyone would notice her staring.

Shit, she thought to herself. Of course I had to fuck this up, too.

"I meant that I wasn't looking at her in THAT way. She just reminded me of somebody that I used to know. That's all it is, I swear."

Which technically wasn't a lie. Camila could've sworn that she had looked into those green eyes beforehand, or even possibly have heard her name.

"Listen, I know that it's been awhile for you and everything, but I think you need to reevaluate your taste in women. You can't be running around falling for random degenerates in lower Manhattan!"

"Wait," Normani said, breaking her silence. "It's been awhile for Camila? Wait, aren't you still dating-"

"No. I'm not," Camila said, sounding defeated. "She ended things with me about a month ago."

An awkward silence filled the room once the words had left her mouth. Camila was known for being a private person, so the fact that Dinah and Normani were just learning this now wasn't much of a surprise.

However, it still was quite a surprise. Camila had been dating this girl, Ally, for almost two years. They complimented each other so well, regardless of their three year age difference.

Ally was one of those girls that could instantly turn your mood around without even trying. She was super tiny, barely 5"0, and had a smile that was practically blinding. Camila's friends and family described her as a ray of sunshine - no matter how you were feeling, only a few minutes with Ally could have you feeling like a brand new person.

Ally and Camila were the typical dream couple. They traveled to many places together, always tried new things, and always endlessly supported each other. When Ally auditioned for X factor, Camila was right by her side. When Camila wanted to tty and publish her first real story, Ally was her ultimate cheerleader. They were so cute, it was almost a little bit revolting.

They had talked about a real future together, having kids, moving to Texas, Ally's hometown together... So the fact that they split up out of the blue like this, was absolutely shocking.

"Shit, Mila. I'm so-"

"It's fine. Really. She's dating someone else now, or so I've heard. Apparently, she's happy. So, who knows? Maybe my heartache is worth it, because knowing that Ally is happy makes the pain a little easier to deal with."

Dinah pouted, and crawled over to the smaller girl.

"You're honestly such a good person. I don't know how you do it. I'm here for you, okay?

They embraced for a few moments, and eventually, Normani joined in.

"Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me."

"However, if you want me to knock the new bitch out, you know I owe you one, right?"

Camila giggled. "Thanks. At least I know I have options," she joked, starting to feel better. "But honestly, I could never hurt her. I would never want to hurt her in a million years."

The two girls nodded, silently agreeing with her.

"But.. After all of the good things that she does for others.. Why did she have to do the worst to me?" Camila asked, almost inaudible. Luckily for Camila, who hated talking about her feelings, Normani and Dinah didn't hear her. She let out a sigh of relief.

The girls continued their Saturday afternoon talking, laughing, and eating way too much junk food. It seemed as if everyone was having a good time. But every so often, Camila would stare off into space, wondering where the green-eyed girl was.

No matter what she was doing, her face would instantly pop up into her head. She would hear the sound of her deep, raspy voice, whispering into her ear.

After the breakup with Ally, she never would have thought that she would be thinking about anyone else.

But out of all of the people that could have caught her eye.. Why this girl?
