Lauren couldn't believe how she was feeling. The entire night was spent either smiling, laughing, or a combination of the two.
Of course, the good food and the Parks & Recreation humor definitely did help, but the fact that the four of them were getting along so well made Lauren let out an extra long sigh of relief.
Her stomach and cheeks hurt from laughing so hard - a feeling that she hadn't felt in months, or possibly even years. Lauren didn't know that it was possible to click so well with people, but these girls proved her wrong.
And the fact that one of them could possibly be her girlfriend? Even better.
Lauren wasn't sure if Camila was ready for that type of label, but she knew that she was. I mean, why couldn't she be?
Camila was beautiful, both inside and out. Her dedication and her drive were two traits that were most certainly admirable. She was extremely smart (3.8 GPA????) and funny, and the fact that she always had a book in her bag made Lauren smile. The way she scrunched her nose and the way she furrowed her eyebrows had Lauren smiling for hours on end.
So, she guessed it was true - Lauren was head over heels crazy for Camila.
"Lauren, can you pass the rice over this way?"
Lauren decided that moment was the best to stop daydreaming about the girl that was sitting right next to her, and passed the bowl over to Normani. For a girl that was so fit, that girl could eat. Lauren was extremely impressed.
Dinah sighed. "Is it bad that I'm still hungry?"
Camila nodded. "I'm not going to lie to you, Dinah Jane, it is a little bit concerning."
And it most certainly was. There were tons of takeout boxes and wrappers from the pizzeria down the block, the Chinese place about two blocks down, and, of course, Insomnia Cookie. The four of them chipped in at least 25 dollars each, not like any of them were complaining.
At least, until Dinah did, just now.
"Well, we can always go to the deli down the block and get snacks," Camila said.
"Actually," Lauren cut her off, apologizing silently with her eyes. "How about Camila and I run down? Throw me your money, I got this."
Dinah raised her eyebrows, clearly understanding what was going on.
"Alright, young lady. But if y'all aren't back in ten minutes, I'll start blowing up your phones. You understand?"
Camila rolled her eyes. "Yes, mom. Of course. Anything for you."
Dinah whacked her in the head with one of the many old magazines sprawled across the floor, causing Camila to pout the cutest pout that Lauren had ever seen in her entire life.
Normani and Dinah handed their money over to the unofficial couple, and the two girls hurried out of the apartment, side by side.
"So..."
Camila giggled. "So..."
"Well.."
"I'm having such a good time tonight."
"I'm having such a good time tonight."
They both laughed at their simultaneous reactions, slowly getting closer to each other.
"Well, I'm very happy that you are, especially after the Dinah incident."
Lauren sighed. "She filled you in, I'm assuming?"
