Lauren finally arrived at Camila's apartment, exhausted after her long day at work. Although the remainder of her shift practically flew by after the conversation she had with Camila just a few hours ago:She finally admitted that she loved her. A lot.
Of course, it was a complete accident. It wasn't an intentional profession of love.. But it was completely genuine. Although Lauren wanted to plan an entire night for the two of them for her to break the news to Camila.. This was just right.
Just as she was about to ring the doorbell so Camila could buzz her in, the door flew open, with Dinah and Normani right behind it.
"Hey, babes! Where are you two heading off to?" Lauren asked, smirking slightly.
Dinah shoved her lightly. "Well, Camila told us about that café you two went to that didn't ID you guys, so we're heading there for a little while."
"Ooooo, going to get drunk together? Sounds romantic," Lauren replied, teasing them.
Normani rolled her eyes. "Lauren, it's not like that. Besides, alcohol doesn't hit me that quickly-"
"Oh, hush, babe. We all know wine hits you like a truck-"
"Dinah, shut up! I'll be fine. Anyways, your girlfriend broke the news to us. You finally told her that you're in love with her?!"
Lauren blushed. "Surprise!"
Dinah and Normani exchanged looks, and burst out laughing.
"Not much of a surprise, Lo. You both have been staring at each other with googly eyes since day one. If anything, I'm only surprised that you didn't tell her sooner."
Lauren shrugged. "I mean, I wanted to plan something special, but.. It was just the right time, especially after Ally basically stormed into my job, embarrassing me in front of my boss once again. I didn't need Camila to think that I had any remote interest in her still."
"Believe me, that's probably the least of her problems," Dinah replied, smiling. "Anyways, our uber is down the block. I'll bring you back a croissant, okay?"
Lauren smiled. "Thanks, D. Have a good night, guys. Be safe!"
Normani blushed. "Shut up, Lauren! Nothing's going to happen!"
Lauren rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, Mani."
A few moments later, Camila buzzed Lauren in, and she started walking up the many flights of stairs up to Camila's apartment.
Once she approached the final staircase, she noticed that something leading up to her apartment:
Rose petals, both red and white, leading to her front door.
Lauren frowned, unsure of what was happening. She bent down to smell them, smiling as the scent filled her insides. She stood up, continuing to walk up the stairs, one by one.
Just as she was about to open the door, she noticed a scent in the air
...Nutella??? Her favorite???
Right where her left foot was, she noticed a small envelope with her name on it. She frowned, picking it up:
My dearest Lauren,
Knowing you, I had a feeling that you wanted to make our first times exchanging "I love you's" special.. And surprisingly, so did I. Not that they weren't special already, but.. Okay, anyway. You're the light of my life, and everything about you makes me happy. So.. This night is just for us. Tonight, we're going to turn off all electronics (yes, no tumblr for the both of us- cue the crying) and we're going to focus on each other. And I know that during one of our first conversations, you told me that you preferred flowers to chocolate, but tonight, you're getting both. I love you, so much.
