Elliot's p o v :

I contemplate whether I should go see her or stay here, standing by the door, my hand on the door knob. "fuck." I mutter and sit on top of my bed when I recall her wounded and panicked state from yesterday.

I have never been so scared to lose someone ever before, this feeling is so foreign and strange. It took everything in me to not stay by her side the entire time, but I had no choice. She thinks I'm some cruel, heartless bastard and I don't want her to be scared, the second she wakes up so I told Abigail to take care of her.

I quickly stand up when I hear a knock on the door, Abigail steps in and smiles at me sympathetically. "she is fine, son. Don't worry, she just needs to rest." I sigh in relief and nod at her.

"she asked where you were, she might come to your room, I'm not sure though. Just told you incase you get a heart attack."

I stare at her wide-eyed. "I think I'm gonna get a heart attack now." I breathe out. She laughs and comes up to me, and hugs me. Her warm embrace making my frantic heart calm down a little. She pats my head while saying "why don't you tell her everything, hm? It will make things easier for you." I pull out of the hug.

"I can't. she doesn't trust me one bit. I need to earn her trust first, so she can believe me. I'll only ever be a ruthless monster for her if I don't earn her trust." I tell her. She nods in understanding and leaves. I lay on my back staring at the ceiling.

----

Just as I'm on the last step, I see Lilith sitting on the dining table, staring at her hand. My heart starts racing, I put on a blank, cold face, void of any emotion, like I've been doing all my life ever since he was born.

I walk to the kitchen and check what's being made for dinner today. Its pasta again. Abigail came up to me and whispered in my ear. "she wanted to eat it tonight so I made it." I nodded and sat at the table, taking my phone and acting busy, anything to not loose myself in the eyes of the woman in front of me.

"can I ask you something?" she spoke in a low voice, I nodded for her to continue, without looking at her. "are the servants gonna eat with us today as well?"

I looked up at her and saw pure curiosity on her face. "they always will. If you got a problem with it, you can eat upstairs or anywhere you want." I said with a hard edge to my voice.

"I just wanted to ask why you do that? You care about these people? Or you're just acting? Do you even pay them? or you just threaten them with your gun? Are you really a bad person?" she asked too many questions at a time, I hated that, I never liked it when people dont be patient and ask it one by one, its not like we're gonna run away. It will only make us feel pressured. She asked more questions but I tuned her out.

I stand up and tell her to ask others if she is curious and head to my room.

I hated that, I really did. They still haunt me to this day, those hundreds of questions asked all together trigger me.
