Chapter 19

Lilith's p o v :

"what's for dinner tonight, Mrs. Abigail?" I leaned on the kitchen counter, as I waited for her to reply. "Elliot told me to order pizza, would you like that too, ma'am?" I shook my head and went to my room.

I stood on the balcony, staring at the beautiful sky, the night was cold. I hug myself when a cool wind passes through me. I've been numb, I wanna get out of this house but there's nothing I can do. I don't even know if I'm allowed to do that.

But then again, I don't need to know. It's my life I can do whatever the fuck I want, I head to the walk-in closet and grab a coat. I am wearing faded blue jeans and a baggy black tee, I wear a long beige coat on top and phone Sam as I go down the stairs.

"heyyyy Lilith! What's up?"

"are you free right now?"

"yeah, why?"

"great! Lets meet up?"

"hell yeah! Where?"

"umm, at the library?"

"sureee, see ya there then."

"yeh, okay. I'm out, I'll be there in......SHIT."

"what's wrong?"

"I'm 20 hours away from the library.."

"what? Isn't your home like 15 minutes walk from the library?"

"I am not at home. I am somewhere else."

"where?"

I didn't reply because I have no idea, all I did was sulk around in the car, I did not pay attention to my surroundings so, there is no way I can find a cab here cause this place is deep in a foresty road and I have never seen cars or any vehicle here except Elliot's.

I come out of my thoughts when Sam calls out for me.

"hello? Lilith, u there?"

"I'm sorry, I can't come." I blurted out and hung up the call.

I sit down on the doorstep of the mansion, and stare at the floor. I am frustrated, I am really mad. Mad at Mike, Kartha, Elliot, everyone. I'm mad at this world for treating me like this, what did I ever do to deserve all of this? All the mental and physical abuse? My only present parent leaving me? Me being sold off to some guy?

I sat here, thinking of everything. So many questions in my headspace, none answered.

The gate opened, and a black car drove in. Elliot exits the car and right before he walks in, I call him. "can I go out?"

When he doesn't reply, I look at him. He tosses the car keys at me and I catch it. "you cant go out but you can roam around the forest, its pretty big." he says and disappears.

'fuck it' I mutter and get in the car, parked in front of me and drive to the gate. I know how to drive cause of Mia, I drive around in her car sometimes. I roll down the window and peak my head out.

"didn't you see Elliot Sir handing me the keys now? He gave me permission, open the gate." I lie.

"we saw that ma'am but we have to call him and check once." the security guard says.

"your really gonna question me? I am Elliot's girlfriend. If he found out you didn't listen to me, kiss goodbye to your job." I lie again, like a spoiled bitchy girl. The guard says sorry and opens the gate.

I race the car, roll down all the windows and smile ear to ear with joy. I felt good after so many days. I freed my hair from the ponytail and let the air play with it. I played songs on the highest volume and sing while driving.

After getting out of the long ass forest road, I open google maps and type in Mia's address. It shows 21 hours and 16 minutes from where I am. "lets do this." I muttered and continued driving and singing.

I have 3 more hours to drive, my arms are sore, I feel sleepy and hungry but I have to get there as soon as I can. The songs are playing in a very low volume now, my hair back in a ponytail, I even rolled the windows back up.

I don't have any money on me to pay for food but I am starving, I'll die if I don't eat now. I take my phone and check if I have money on apple pay. I squeal when I see that I have 75 dollars. I look for a grocery store or fast food store on the way and find one just 15 minutes away.

After looking for the store around for so long, I finally find it and go grab some bread and jam to eat. I eat a few pieces, and keep the rest on the passenger seat and continue my journey.

I'm finally here. The sun is shining brightly above me as I ring the bell. Cedric opens the door in a few minutes. He's still in pajamas, hair messy, he rubs his eyes and squints to see me. His eyes turn wide when he realizes its me.

I smile and wave at him. "omg, hello ma'am" he says and I start laughing for I don't know what. "hello sir." I say through my laughter. I feel so relieved to finally be in between people I know and love. "can I please hug you" I ask him.

He hugs me without answering and I hug him back and we pull out after some time. He ushers me inside and tells me to wake Mia up.

I go to her room and shake the hell out of her as she wakes up extremely annoyed but her face softens as she sees me and hugs me, I hug her tightly and I'm really glad that I didn't cry. But I feel good now, and safe, so safe.

I freshen up and change my clothes into Mia's baggy shirt and eat a proper breakfast and get some sleep.

Its 5.30 pm, I'm home alone, I just woke up after a long nap. I think of what to do and remember that I was supposed to surprise Sam with help from Cedric. I quickly get up, wash my face, do skincare, wear some makeup and wear something floral from Mia's wardrobe.

I dial Mia's number.

"heyyy, you slept well?"

"yes, I did. Thanks to you and I'm going out to meet up with Sam. I used your skincare, makeup and clothes, sorry bout that hehheheehhe." I said not feeling sorry at all.

"thats okay, bitch. Have funnnn!!!"

"oh that I'll do. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"byebyeee"

I am wearing a pink floral collared top with blue jeans and white sneakers. I keep my phone in my pocket and head out.

I told Cedric to fool Sam into thinking its a boy's night out, but I'm gonna be there instead of him. I book a cab and get to the library.
