Despite the insurmountable task awaiting them, they needed sleep. So they plodded upstairs to Wednesday's room where Andrew was already laid on the bed, reading a book and waiting for Wednesday.

When he saw the two of them come in, he sighed and closed the book. "Mon trou noir," he said. "Don't you think the handcuffs are a bit much?"

How were they going to talk their way out of this? They hadn't discussed what lies to tell him.

"It's a surprise," Wednesday said simply. "When the time comes I will tell you."

He did not look convinced but he knew better than to argue with his girlfriend's whims. "Don't keep me waiting. And come to bed. I've missed you all day." He rose up to give Wednesday a kiss on the mouth. Enid had to turn her head aside.

No matter how many times it happened it bothered her.

Did she....did she like Andrew? Was that why it bothered her when they kissed? Andrew was charming, and took good care of his appearance. He was also doting and loving, all things Enid would like in a partner. Enid's stomach sank.

That was the last thing she needed right now- stupid feelings getting in the way of her and Wednesday's friendship.

Andrew pressed a few more kisses that made Enid's stomach tight and then Wednesday moved them along to the drawer to get her things, Enid forced to follow due to the cuffs.

"I'm going to shower," Wednesday reported.

"Okay...?" Enid raised a brow. Why should she care?

Wednesday lifted up their chained wrist.

Oh, right.

"I am not getting into the shower with you!" Enid yelped, face burning with embarrassment.

"Enid, you can sit outside the shower," Wednesday said, lips lifted in a quiet laugh.

Even more embarrassing.

"No one gets in the shower with Wednesday but me," Andrew called out from where he sat on the bed again, reading his book once more. Enid did not need to imagine that.

She and Wednesday entered the bathroom and Enid put a hand over her eyes to cover them so she could give Wednesday some privacy to change. Enid only put her hand down when she heard the shower curtain close and the water turn on. Enid sat on the lip of the tub, back to the curtain, face flaming red.

This was all too much.

She tried hard not to think about how her roommate was naked behind a flimsy piece of plastic. Enid's inner wolf paced inside her chest, suddenly ravenous.

Clear, unmarked skin. We must mark it. We must let them know. It barked at her.

But why? Enid was confused. Why would her wolf want to claim Wednesday? She recalled what Wednesday had said about feelings and how those couldn't be entirely removed just buried. Was Enid's wolf trying to tell her something about Wednesday?

"Enid," Wednesday's words jolted Enid out of her thoughts.

"Yes?"

"I noticed you turn away from me and Andrew when we kiss."

Oh no. Enid really didn't want to talk about this topic. "Um....?" she looked at the floor, hoping that if she didn't answer Wednesday would let this go. No such luck. Wednesday wasn't one to let uncomfortable topics drop.

"Why is that? Do you dislike our displays of affection? I can tone it down."

"No, it's fine. Don't mind me," Enid tried to play it off. The shower curtain ripping open made Enid yelp in panic and she refused to look anywhere but straight ahead as Wednesday peered at Enid, dripping water onto the floor.
