The ceremony took place in the backyard the following day, Andrew and Wednesday standing in front of a scrying bowl set on a stone pedestal that had set up just for this moment. Lines making up an intricate pentagram had been burned into the grass. They would light up once the ritual would be complete when Wednesday poured her blood into the bowl and he drank it, gaining what he wanted from this whole elaborate scheme.
He had waited eons for someone like her to come along. While time had no meaning to him, he ached with it's passage because a piece of his heart had been stowed away, taken by the passage of time itself. He intended to get it back by using Wednesday's blood and freeing himself from the chains Goody Addams had wrapped him in.
The rest of the Addams family was in attendance, sitting on plastic lawn chairs outside of the circle. Gomez held a shotgun over his shoulder, while Pugsley was fiddling with the grenades on his belt. Morticia's and Lurch's weapons were not easily visible, but Andrew could sense them.
He had made them suspicious enough that they were going to turn on themselves in the search for the impostor. He would enjoy watching them senselessly attempt to murder each other, only for the joy to melt away on their faces when they realized that he'd freed his chains and they were now able to die.
Keeping his smile small, he turned to Wednesday who stood there, eyes dead, unable to do anything unless he willed it because of what he snuck into her head.
"Are you ready, my dear?"
Pretending to be her lover, had been a most confusing experience for him. She looked like the spitting image of Goody and the thought had his inhuman heart trembling. He refused to identify which emotion it was he felt. He was immortal, all consuming. He didn't quaver in the face of emotions.
Wednesday predictably did not answer him. He needed her to act as normal as she could, otherwise her family would become aware of something being more wrong than it already was.
"My dear? Answer me," Andrew urged. The metal snake inside Wednesday's brain whirled into action, forcing her jaw open mechanically. Before she could utter anything out, the ground exploded a few feet from him.
Out of it erupted Enid, covered in pieces of dirt and shaking her big wolf head to dispel it.
She had her wolf form back?
That should be impossible. He'd removed her memories of being able to turn!
"You're early," Andrew said between gritted teeth as Enid stood up from the hole, giving her big shaggy coat another shake, sending dirt flying everywhere. On her tail, hung Thing. Using the momentum of Enid's swaying tail, Thing launched himself at Wednesday, slapping her hard enough that the tiny silver snake flew out of her ear. She gasped in shock, holding her red cheek as her head snapped back. But Thing wasn't done. He slapped her a few more times, each time her memory returning to her and sending her stumbling another step back from Andrew.
When he was done, he landed on the ground, flashing a satisfied thumbs up.
Her cheeks were flaming red. "I remember," she gaped out, immediately reaching for the blade she kept hidden behind the small of her back and turning on Andrew who stood flabbergasted.
This shouldn't be possible. How could Thing slapping them undo such magic? It wasn't fair and it was downright bogus! He peeled his lips back. Of course, from everything that he should have expected from the Addams he should have expected the unexpected.
No matter, he was too close to quit. He would get Wednesday to bleed, and he would drink her blood.
The Addams family watched from their seats, Gomez even clapping with excitement. "Now this is what I call entertainment!" he cheered.
