What Could've Been

Discovering new music that I can't share with you
Seeing t-shirts that I think you might like
And checking if your size is available
Thinking to myself
That maybe, someday
I will be able to get one for you

I see us in couples
Is this what we could have been
If you hadn't backed down?

I wonder what hugging you would feel like
Will I be able to hear your heartbeat?
Are they sharp or blurred?
Are you a gentle lover?

I see our kids in children
What will our children look like?
Will they have my eyes and your nose
Will they have your smile?

I see you in a father
Playing with his kids
You have a warm fatherly personality
You would be a wonderful dad

If only you knew what you wanted
