Epilogue

So of course I couldn't do an epilogue without taking you on one last emotional ride.

"Im worried about him." Renjun whispers softly to Jaemin as they watch Jeno space out in front of his laptop again.
"He's been so moody and distant lately. I thought we were past this no communication thing?" Jaemin shakes his head.
"Give him a little more time, he will talk soon enough." Renjun nods and they both watch as he sighs deeply and closes his laptop.  He walks to them and offers a  small smile before kissing their heads.
"I'm going to bed, Goodnight." He says softly.
This has been going on for some time. They noticed him being quieter at night, but when asked, everything is fine.

After three years together they've grown quite a bit but he sometimes still needs a little push to talk about his feelings. They offer him an opportunity and if he wants to take it he will. Of course if it's something they feel might be related to them they push a lot harder but they don't have many issues there anyway.

Lately when he goes to bed he's been taking the middle spot. He needs extra comfort, he knows they know and they are more than happy to help in this way. He just doesn't know how to talk about this. It's difficult on so many levels but he also knows that it is a big deal and they need to know soon.

Renjun has been texting him throughout the day, only to receive one word answers, if any at all. He's so done. He is all for giving him time and space but this has been on going for almost two months. It wasn't even noticeable in the beginning, it wasn't until he looked back on it then figured it out.
He plans to confront him when he gets home, hash it out and he isn't afraid to use tears to get him to talk, it honestly won't take much to get him to tear up anyway. Of course he tells himself he will go in with his guns blazing but he knows he will only be a puddle of emotions.

He takes a deep breath as he turns the lock. He knows Jeno is home now, he hopes he is ready to open up.
"Jen?" He calls out as he walks in. It's dark and silent, maybe he worked late? He walks in and hangs his coat and takes his shoes off when he hears it. It's almost hard to decipher but he's sure he hears crying. He walks quickly to their bedroom, the source of the noise and sees him sitting on the edge of the bed, broken.

"Jeno, honey what's wrong?" He looks up, his face puffy, eyes red, snot running out of his nose. Renjun grabs a box of tissues and goes about cleaning his face before Jeno grabs his waist and holds on tight.
"Baby, you are scaring me, what's wrong?" He squeezes tighter and Renjun decides to gather reinforcements. He grabs his phone out of his pocket and calls Jaemin immediately.
"Jaem, you need to come home now. I don't know what's wrong but Jeno needs us." Jaemin agrees and quickly locks up to head home.

When he comes in Jeno's head is in Renjun's lap as he pets his head shushing him. He gets to his knees and kisses his forehead.
"Baby, what happened?" Jeno shakes his head, he can't quite talk yet. They continue to soothe him as much as they can with just their presence. It helps a lot and soon he is able to take a few deep breaths and sits up.

"So I did something and I should have asked you guys but it's so bad. He just kept getting hurt and, and I was tired of sitting by watching it happen time after time. I even fucking called the police but they sent him back. Then do you know what f-fucking happened? He g-got hurt worse. They fucking hurt him worse." To say the two are confused would be an understatement but they have to wait for him to get it out.
"Who got hurt baby?" Jaemin asks gently.

"Remember the kid i told you about? His name is Yushi He's from Japan, he's only eight?" They nod as he tries to hold back more tears.
"He is being fostered and they abuse him, badly, and when I reported it, he paid the price." Both Jaemin and Renjun show their disgust while Jeno takes a few more breaths.
"I felt really bad for what I did so I filled out an application to foster him." The two couldn't hide their shock if they tried.
"I passed, I guess, he can live with us. If it's ok with you guys." He says with a silly grin, he's just waiting for them to get angry or annoyed.
"I'm sorry I didn't say anything. I honestly didn't think it would go through." Renjun shakes his head.
"Wait, you want one of your students to live here? For how long?" He asks.
"Well, I'm hoping after we pass the trial period that maybe we could adopt him and he could stay forever, and be ours?" He asks kind of quietly.
"I just really want him to have a loving home that he won't have to be afraid to return to."
