CELESTINE AND JADIS STARED TO each other, both not daring to look away. Peter backed himself away from the two of them, sword at the ready for the Witch.
Jadis clenched her thin staff. Celestine knew well of what that staff could do. The many frozen statues around them spoke plenty of what she planned.
Jadis raised her weapon and gasped, while Celest and Peter were silent.
Edmund jumped off from a high rock and split the staff in half with his sword.
An echo rang in the air, blue and white wisps expanded out of the weapon, disappearing into thin air. As Peter smiled, Celestine was the opposite, as Jadis held the smallest smile to the little boy's actions.
Suddenly, a loud roar was heard from above. As Edmund looked up, the White Witch grabbed the boy and stabbed him with the sharp, broken end of her staff.
"Edmund!" screams Peter, watching his brother fall down.
Celestine's eyes widened at the sight. That wasn't until Aurora shrieked from the sky, turning their attention. The girl kept on looking at Edmund, then to Peter; her mind completely fogged.
As soon as Celestine's head snapped toward her dragon, she gasped in seeing Polar alive and well. The dragon was much bigger, almost reaching the size of Aurora. Its scales and eyes were practically glowing, from the magic inside Jadis' staff.
"Ao've jiōraton naejot sagon kidding issa." (You've got to be kidding me)
That's what she was smiling. Edmund had accidentally released the last power Jadis was wielding, an everlasting boost for the Ice Dragon to rise from.
Polar shrieks to Aurora, making Aurora drive toward the Ice Dragon, without hesitation.
Aurora clamps down Polar, as the Ice Dragon does the same. Celestine did her best to keep herself on the dragon, all the while having to avoid the large claws and fangs of Polar.
What Celestine began to notice was Polar's quickness in health. Every claw Aurora made, every bite and burn would disappear in a matter of seconds.
She saw it firsthand. The girl watched as its scales glowed in Jadis' magic and regenerated.
That's when Celestine began to panic, because how do you stop the unstoppable?
Peter knew well his fight with Jadis was destined. The two swords their swords, reflect the other. However, Jadis was much more experienced than the boy. With her two swords in her hands, she battled the boy, almost impressed by how quick he was to almost match her.
She knew the vengeance of his brother drove him. She knew he was vulnerable with emotion, anger was a great driving force.
Peter could never admit defeat now. After seeing Edmund drop on the field, adrenaline broke out of him. He had to keep fighting, he had to take the Witch down.
