27. Suspicious

"Look It's kang y/n."

" This is my first time looking at her in person."

"Yah, isn't it Rowan Hayes?"

" Oh my! He is so handsome. "

"Y/n looks so beautiful."

" Her face doesn’t have much makeup I think."

"Nah, she looks too cold and unapproachable, arrogant."

"A woman shouldn’t be like that. Man doesn’t like it."

"She acts arrogant just because she has Kang Corporation."

"Yes, without that she is nothing."

"Rowan shouldn’t stay with her, he'll become cold-hearted like her."

"But I honestly admire her. She is such a strong woman. "

Rowan wanted to laugh at those stupid people who were making groundless comments. They knew nothing about her or them, but still judged. This is ridiculous. They're lucky y/n didn’t hear them, she would've sued them. 

Rowan saw y/n talking with Kim Rohen and his wife, Kim Taehyung's parents. They showed up when the chairman was introducing them to his family. So Rowan excused himself from them. Now he is surrounded by a group of men around his age. As always, he is best with people. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Y/n's father and mother happily chatting with Kim Taehyung and Roseanne. It's his first time seeing his best friend's sister in real life.  Roseanne indeed looks like a princess from a fairytale, just perfect.  But the reality is different where fairytale doesn’t exist, who could know it better than him. 

 Y/n's parents look so happy and proud. Rowan Hayes knows this look, the way y/n's parents look at her sister. It's like they're looking at the most precious possession that they created. Rowan Hayes scoffed. He might have been abandoned by his birth mother, but his father, grandma, and his friends showed them what real love looks like. When his father looked at him, Rowan could see the love in his eyes and the obvious pride. But the way Roseanne's father and mother look at her, it's more like they are looking at their most obsessive possession, a trophy.  It made him sick. How could people like them give birth to y/n?

 Even though he is aware of his best friend's younger self. She did make some mistakes when she was young, but could you blame her? In a situation like that, with a family like this, she would have turned worse. However, he is proud of y/n for the woman she has become, even though he doesn’t know that she has reborn.  

What's bothering him now is why Kim Taehyung's parents are suddenly showing too much interest in y/n. Well, he can understand why Kim Taehyung's father is fond of y/n, of course cause of her abilities, but why his mother is suddenly showing so much affection. His parents were never rude to her, but they weren’t affectionate either.

 In all these years, they probably know  y/n and her parents and sister don’t have good relations. But she is the apple of her uncle's eye, who is the king and has been ruling over ever since he conquered. Y/n is his successor. Her abilities are beyond words. If they wed Roseanne to their only son, they would indeed get glory and her father and mother's companies, but if it's y/n, they'll get the whole world. With the power of Kim manufacturers and Kang Corporation, they'll be untouchable and above all.

Having Kang Sean and Kang y/n on their side means they won the world. But they know they can't tame y/n like Rose. Are they aiming for the big fish now? Is this why Kim Taehyung has taken an interest in wooing y/n? 

I wonder what they are taking to y/n?  

Rowan's thoughts were interrupted by another friend, Tae Sumi. 

"Hey Rowan," she greeted him happily. Tae Sumi looked stunning in one word. She wore a simple yet elegant white dress. Her makeup and jewellery are very simple for a celebrity, but she prefers this way, and so do her fans. According to her fans, she is an idol with pure talent. Her Beauty is a plus point indeed. But her simple attire and pure talent have won millions of fans' hearts.

People around them mumble gossip watching them together. Nothing new, this always happens.

"Hi, Sumi. Oh my Sumi Bears fans are gonna go crazy today. Stay away from me, I don’t want your overprotective fans' wrath. My heart won't be able to take it.  " he asked dramatically. Like her fans don’t love Rowan and y/n to death for being her true friends and supporting her till now. But her fans got overprotective after her ex's incident. 

Tae Sumi rolled her eyes at her friend's dramatic behaviour and hugged him, "Then after watching me hugging you, they might kill you. Good now suffer."

"Hey, you little shit, stop hanging out with that psycho. You are becoming violent like her." Rowan whispers so that no one can hear him except her. Sumi giggled. Rowan sometimes fears that the girl was supposed to be born as a serial killer cause the way she wanted to kill everyone who annoyed her.

"When did you come? " he asked 

"Just now. Where's y/n?" she asked looking for her partner in crime 

Rowan looked at the spot where she had been before, but strangely it was empty now. He looked around to find her when his eyes fell on her, but she was not alone, she was standing in front of her sister, her fiancé, and her parents. 

Y/n pov :

I was with Rowan when Kim Rohen and his wife came to me. After talking, they particularly dragged me to my parents and my sister.   Kim Rohen is always trying to behave like a guardian or something. This man was never rude to me, but he has a habit of acting like a guardian with young people who are into business. His wife has maybe acknowledged me twice in the past when I was probably six or seven. But just 'hello', 'you are precious Roseanne's sister.' 'Good to see you.'   only this. 

This woman has never shown any interest in me. But just like everyone, she showed interest in me when I became the CEO. When I came into the limelight, she started to talk to me, slowly, slowly, started to act casual. I do not like it. Just focus on your future daughter-in-law. 

Today they talk to me, but it's different. I can see it. They know I'm on bad terms with my family, still, they're putting good words in for them.

Mrs Kim, her tone is sweet, like when she talks to my sister with adoration. And I definitely hate it. Are they trying to get me instead of Roseanne, or are they putting effort into making up between my family and me so they get backup from both my father and me? Is that why Taehyung is acting like this? 

I might be misjudging them , but it's better to be careful than sorry. In this business world, things work this way,so I'm not letting my guard down. 

I don’t care if you have any plan using my father or sister, but if you try to play with me, I'll ruin you as I've done to all my enemies in the past years. 

(I don’t think I'll be able to give another update next month. I'm really sorry for that in advance. I'm going through family problems  actually. Please be patient,  I'll give an update as fast as I can.)
