The sound of the clanging of the cans in the back of this car finally stopped after the longest ride down the highway. 2 hours later and it finally was silent.

I slammed the door as I got out and quickly grabbed the cans and the just married sign, throwing it as far as I could into the street.sure it was stupid but in the moment it gave me a little relief.

Looking around I realized I was quite literally stranded in this town with only my wallet and Derek's and his damn car in a wedding dress.

I looked down at the dress that was now dirty with new spots of blood on it. My heels were digging into my feet and my hair was probably all a mess now. I could only imagine what people were thinking of me right now.

The night was starting to come with the sun slowly going down over the beautiful town I was in. When I passed the sign into it it read Woodville. The best way I could describe it would be that small little town that you pass on your way to vacation.

I could see people standing outside stores and looking at me and what I just did. I gave a little wave to them all letting the embarrassment set in. a bunch of strangers just got a show for free and I bet they wish they didn't miss the first few episodes.
I rushed to the car and got my wallets and walked right into the bar where I pulled up. If I was going to be fucked, I might have done it with a drink in my hand, am I right.

The doors to the bar popped open for me as I walked into this very western-themed place. It was a nice bar with updated stuff, but you could tell it had to be a bar passed down from generation to generation.

I was getting crazy looks from everyone but right now I couldn't care less. I had one thing and one thing only on my mind. I bunched up my dress and plopped my butt right at the bar.

"Should I be congratulating you?" The bartender behind the bar asked me as he was cleaning a glass. He was hot if you asked me. A big, tall man with a nice, trimmed beard. Blue eyes that popped with his tanned skin and brown hair. This man looked like he was straight out of one of those romance books that my mom used to read. hell I would fall for this book guy.

"I guess you could say that." I shrugged, pulling the stupid headpiece out of my hair.

"Could I get you some ice? Maybe a doctor?"

"Why? Is my face that bad?" I know I had taken a beating, but I didn't think it was that bad. The man pointed to the mirror above his head, and I stood up on the stool to see what he was talking about. I had dried blood coming down the side of my face from the cut above my eyebrow and also a new black eye. My lip was also starting to swell up a bit.

"I'll take ice and maybe a shot of whiskey if you don't mind." The guy got right to grabbing the ice and my drink and put it down right in front of me.

"How far is Virginia from here if you don't mind me asking..."

"It's about 4 hours out from here." God was I really driving that long?

"Mav can you-"a woman coming up to the bar stopped in her tracks when she looked at me.

"What the hell, how did Bridezilla get here?" A small smile went to my face as she said that.

"Did you at least win?" I looked down at myself seeing how messed up I looked. I know it didn't look like it from the way I looked but I felt I had won.

"Maid of honor didn't even see it coming." That made her smile as she sat down next to me, putting her hand out to me.

"I'm Hanna." I took her hand shaking it instantly feeling the pain in my hand from how hard I was punching.

"I'm Lainey."

"Now Lainey, I think you have a story to tell." The bartender started to walk off going to another customer as I sat here with this new woman.

"Well, it's not much to tell. I caught the groom cheating on me with my maid of honor." I saw both of them kissing right before walking down the aisle.

"Ohhh this is going to be good." She put a straw in her new drink that the bartender had left for her.

"Well, the maid of honor was my sister. She and my ex-fiancé apparently have been together for a year now which is how long the engagement was. I found out today at the wedding and tackled her to the ground and beat her. She got me a little bit of nothing compared to the way she looked. I also was able to get a good hit on my ex-fiancé." I looked down at the hand that I used to swing at him and saw how bad it was because of how hard of a hit it was.

"And how did you get here in this town?"

"Oh yeah I stole his car and his money and now I'm here."

"Wow...that is one fucked up story."

I took my shot of whiskey and put the glass back down.

"Yeah well, what are you going to do, life's a bitch."

"True that."

I could feel people all around me looking at me now. it was starting to get a little alarming. I mean can't people keep to themselves

"Don't mind them. Not everyday someone shows up dressed like you are." well that is really fair and I could get that.

"I get it."

"So, fighter bride, where are you going?"

"Honestly, I don't know yet. I have had a long day. I would love to find a nice hotel and stay the night."

"Unfortunately, that's about an hour out from here. This town only has a motel, and I wouldn't stay there if I were you. But maybe I can work something up and get you in at the apartment I'm at."

"Wow that would be great...just know if you try to kill me that my sister walked away with a broken jaw and a bloody nose."

"Don't worry Rocky I'm not that type. I just thought maybe you could use a break today." If only she knew.

"Maverick!" She turned to look at the big bartender who turned to make his way down to us again.

"Any chance she can stay in the apartment next to yours."
