Before he could fully process the source of the voice, a figure ran towards him, arms outstretched. "Lucia, you?" he managed to say, just as the woman wrapped her arms tightly around him in an unexpected embrace.

Her hold on him was firm, as though she hadn't seen him in years. Jimin froze in place, his arms hanging by his sides, making no attempt to reciprocate. His mind raced as his eyes darted towards Y/n, who stood a few steps away, her expression a mix of shock and discomfort.

Lucia finally stepped back, her face glowing with a wide smile. "I missed you so much!" she said, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. "I had to rush off to Canada to visit my mom—urgent family matters, you know. I couldn't even say goodbye to you before I left. How have you been? And what brings you out here at this hour?"

Jimin's jaw tightened for a brief moment before he responded evenly, "I'm fine. I came here for a walk—with my wife."

The word "wife" seemed to hang heavily in the air. Lucia's smile faltered for a split second, but she recovered quickly. "Wife?" she echoed, her voice laced with disbelief.

Jimin nodded, gesturing towards Y/n, who stood silently, her arms wrapped around herself as if seeking some kind of comfort.

Lucia turned her gaze to Y/n, her eyes scanning her from head to toe. "Oh, yeah. Y/n." she said, her tone shifting to something overly sweet.

Lucia extended her hand, her smile polite but far from genuine. Y/n hesitated for a moment before shaking it, her grip firm despite the awkwardness.

"It's nice to meet you," Y/n said softly, her voice steady though her nerves were evident.

Lucia turned her attention back to Jimin, her eyes sparkling with false cheer. "I hope I didn't interrupt anything important. Since we've run into each other, why don't we walk together? We have so much to catch up on, don’t we?"

Jimin opened his mouth to respond, but before he could utter a word, Lucia was already strolling ahead, her heels clicking against the pavement.

Y/n glanced at Jimin, uncertainty written all over her face. He met her gaze, a flicker of apology in his eyes, but neither of them spoke. With no other option, they followed Lucia, who was already talking animatedly as if nothing else in the world mattered.

The silence between Jimin and Y/n grew heavier with every step, the warmth of their earlier connection now overshadowed by the uninvited presence of someone from Jimin's past.

The three of them strolled down the quiet street, with Lucia positioned squarely in the middle. Her heels clicked against the pavement, punctuating her endless chatter. Jimin walked with his hands shoved into his pockets, his gaze shifting occasionally to Y/n, who stayed silent, her arms crossed tightly over her chest as if shielding herself from the cold—or something else entirely.

"You know, Y/n," Lucia began with a laugh, her voice cutting through the silence. "Jimin and I used to have so much fun back in high school. We were inseparable—like two peas in a pod. We did everything together. We'd walk to school, watch late-night movies, and even stay over at each other's houses sometimes. Everyone used to think we were a couple!"

Lucia chuckled, a nostalgic glint in her eyes, but her words felt like sharp daggers to Y/n. She tightened her grip on her arms and bit the inside of her cheek, trying to keep her emotions in check.

"But you know," Lucia continued, her tone turning playful, "I don't know when your husband fell in love with me. Poor guy." She gave Jimin a teasing nudge on the arm, her smile wide and carefree. "I always saw him as a friend, though. Just a really good friend."
