A soft knock at the door interrupted Y/n’s sleep. She groggily opened her eyes, glancing at the clock. It was still early. The knocking persisted, forcing her to get out of bed. She shuffled to the door, her hair slightly disheveled, and opened it.
A maid stood outside, bowing slightly. "Mrs. Park is calling you down for breakfast," she informed politely.
"Mrs. Park?" Y/n mumbled, still half-asleep. The words felt foreign to her, as if they belonged to someone else's life. She rubbed her eyes, trying to process.
"Yes, ma’am," the maid said, confused by Y/n’s tone.
"Oh... right. My mother-in-law." Y/n muttered, more to herself than the maid. "I forgot… I’m married now." she blinked a few times as reality settled back in. "Okay, you go. I’ll be down in a bit."
The maid nodded and left, leaving Y/n standing in the doorway. She sighed and closed the door, heading to the washroom to freshen up.
As she looked at herself in the mirror, the weight of the situation pressed on her chest. Married. The word echoed in her mind like an unwelcome reminder.
After a while, she descended the stairs, her steps hesitant. The aroma of freshly cooked breakfast greeted her, and she saw Mrs. Park sitting in the dining area, looking cheerful.
“Good morning, Y/n!” Mrs. Park said warmly.
“Good morning,” she replied with a small smile, taking a seat next to her.
“How did you sleep? No issues, I hope?” Mrs. Park asked, her eyes scanning Y/n’s face for any signs of discomfort.
“I slept well, thank you,” she answered politely.
Mrs. Park poured herself some tea and then looked around. "Where’s Jimin?"
She blinked, startled. “Jimin?”
“Yes, Jimin. Your husband.” Mrs. Park raised an eyebrow, wondering why Y/n seemed confused.
"Oh..." She stammered, suddenly remembering. "I don’t know where he is."
Mrs. Park tilted her head. “What do you mean? Isn’t he in your room?”
Y/n hesitated, feeling a little embarrassed. “No, he didn’t come to the room when I fell asleep. And when I woke up this morning, he wasn’t there either.”
Mrs. Park’s cheerful expression faltered for a moment, her brows furrowing. "Hmm…"
Just then, Mr. Park entered the dining area, a newspaper in hand. “Good morning,” he greeted as he took a seat.
“Where’s Jimin?” Mrs. Park asked her husband, her tone a little sharper.
“Oh, he went to the office early this morning,” Mr. Park replied casually, unfolding the newspaper.
Mrs. Park frowned. “Why didn’t he tell me?”
“Of course, you were sleeping,” Mr. Park said, not looking up from his paper. "You know how he is—always putting work first."
Mrs. Park sighed but quickly masked her disappointment. “Well, let’s have breakfast.”
Y/n followed them to the dining table, sitting quietly as Mrs. Park began serving food. She couldn’t shake the strange feeling in her chest. It was her first morning as his wife, and yet, it felt like she was still living alone.

Jimin’s sleek black car screeched to a halt in front of a secluded mansion. He stepped out swiftly, his sharp black suit reflecting the cold determination in his eyes. The manager rushed to meet him, already sensing the storm brewing.
