Y/n stood in front of the massive gates of the university, clutching her books tightly. The energy of the campus buzzed around her as she looked up at the towering building. Taking a deep breath, she whispered to herself, "So, my new journey starts today."

She stepped inside, her shoes crunching against the gravel path. The sight of students scattered across the wide, green lawn filled her vision—some were on the grass, others chatting in groups, a few couples laughing together, and then there were students walking alone, just like her.

As she moved further into the campus, suddenly, BAM!! A football slammed into the side of her head. The impact made her stumble backward, her books slipping from her hands as she hit the ground.

Dazed, she blinked and looked up, only to see a tall boy in a tank top and shorts sprinting toward her. For a moment, she thought he was coming to help. But to her surprise, he ran right past her and picked up the football lying a few feet away.

"Thank God, nothing happened to my ball," he muttered, brushing invisible dust off the football.

Y/n stared at him in disbelief as he turned to her with a frown. "Are you blind? Can’t you watch where you’re going? What if something had happened to my ball?" he said, his tone laced with irritation.

Before she could respond, he shot her a glare and jogged away without sparing her another glance.

Y/n was still sitting on the ground, her hands gripping the grass for balance, when a soft voice broke through her thoughts.

"I’m so sorry about him," a girl said, walking over and crouching next to Y/n. "That’s my cousin, Daniel. He’s… well, let’s just say he’s not the most considerate person."

The girl picked up Y/n’s books and handed them back to her. "Are you okay?"

Y/n hesitated for a moment, nodding as she brushed dirt off her jeans.

The girl smiled warmly and extended her hand. "Hi, I’m Ashley. You’re new here, right?"

Y/n glanced at her outstretched hand, unsure. Ashley’s smile widened. "Come on, let’s be friends. I promise I’m nicer than Daniel."

After a moment’s hesitation, Y/n shook her hand. "I’m Y/n," she said quietly, her voice barely audible but clear enough.

"Nice to meet you, Y/n!" Ashley said cheerfully. "Let me show you to the teachers’ room. You’re probably heading there to sort out your schedule, right?"

Y/n nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips.

With Ashley leading the way, the two girls walked across the campus together, and for the first time that day, Y/n felt a little less alone.

The classroom buzzed with the chatter of students until the teacher stood up, demanding attention. The room quickly fell silent, save for the faint rustling of notebooks. Everyone’s eyes were on the teacher, except for one boy, whose head was still resting lazily on his desk at the back of the room.

Clearing his throat, the teacher announced, "Alright, class, listen up. A new student will be joining us today. I expect all of you to welcome her warmly." He turned toward the door. "Come in."

Y/n stepped inside, clutching her books tightly. Her eyes swept over the unfamiliar faces, all staring at her curiously. She took a deep breath and said, "My name is Y/n." Her voice was soft but firm enough to be heard.

The teacher gave her an encouraging nod before scanning the room. "Y/n, you can sit with Daniel, the boy on the last desk." He pointed toward the back of the classroom.
