"You're kidding right?"
Nan let out a small laugh. "I'm not." Mac on the other hand seemed to like the present a little too much.
"Thank you." He breathed.
Mac's eyes laid on the flower in his hand. He was about to say something when a sudden voice rang from the corner making both of them turn their head to the side.
"Well, well... Look what I got here. My own best friend is having the greatest day of his life."
"Umm... This is my friend, Dew. Dew, this is Nan." Mac introduced them.
"Ah... I see~ Nice to meet you, Nan."
"Nice to meet you too."
"Then I guess I should get going..." Dew spoke glaring at his friend with a playful manner.
Before he left, he approached Mac from behind, whispering a few words into his ears. They looked like two best friends who were spilling the tea about people. And never did they know that the man who was standing in front of them could hear every single word that coming out of their mouth. His ears are different from humans, they are very sensitive to any sound.
"Goodbye and have fun both of you." Dew breathed after done with his talking. Leaving Mac dumbfounded. Alone.
"Sorry about that," Mac spoke awkwardly. Nan only stared at him without blurting any words.
Mac was by the sink, filling up the water inside the glass container. Not too much that he doesn't want to submerge the growing leaves. He carefully made sure the plant was planted correctly before he finished his job. After that, he placed them right on the bathroom shelf. Mac's gaze only fixed on the beautiful lotus flower in front of him. He tilted his head to the side as the lips curved into a faint smile. Breathing out, Mac was on the edge where he was way too happy. He had no idea how it was possible but for some reason he loved them. The white lotus flower gave him such a soothing view.
"Do you like it?" A deep voice rang from behind.
"I do. Maybe a little too much." Mac spoke as he looked at the latter through the mirror reflection.
The man only faced the floor. And Mac could see the unusual grin coming from the latter's lips. How weird that these simple things making him go insane. How he never blinked when his eyes captured such a drop-dead gorgeous man. Nan's visual is too bad for his heart. The body portion is just too much for his mind to contain. And he could feel himself drowning by looking at the tall figure. Does he have feelings for Nan? More than just to be called a friend? He was so sure for himself that all of them were one-sided. But nothing is better than this. Because he did prefer this way.
Mac wants nothing more than a calm relationship with people. A person that he could have on his side when he was too afraid that everything would change. And when it is ruined he will lose these people from his life in just a blink of an eyes. That was one of the reasons why he was trying so hard to be a better person. At least, he still has a person to call a father. He watched his dad working day and night to find the extra pocket money. He witnessed how his dad never complained over anything despite all the mess. And he will treasure all of it until the end of his breaths.
"What was on your mind?"
The deep voice ringing from behind startled Mac a little bit startled. He immediately turned his head to the side before he found out that they were both standing only inches away. And Mac was too shocked that his breaths hitched. So he turned his whole body, facing the latter with his hand laid on the chest. Frankly, he could hear the sound of his heart beating. His body became tense. And there was nothing he could do. While Mac was being guarded, Nan seemed so calm and just chilling around.
