They both went silent. Letting the eyes speak through themselves. The time moved so slowly as it was frozen by the beauty. Fixing his gaze on the man in front of him, Mac was so daring which make the other party couldn't take his eyes away from him. Clearing his throat Mac opened his mouth to speak.

"Anyway, thank you for..."

As he was about to blurt out his words, Dew's voice echoed in the bathroom with the creaking sound as he cracked open the door. Mac who was aware of his presence immediately pushed Nan into the closet, hiding the latter from his friend.

"Ugh... I shouldn't eat spicy food ever again." Dew complained without noticing Mac who suspiciously stood there scratching his head which was not itchy. He rubbed his stomach a few times before glancing towards his beloved friend.

"Hey, Mac!"

"Huh?" Mac turned his head towards the man who was calling for his name.

"Do you even pay attention to what I said?" Dew asked.

"What?"

"I'm the one who's asking here but you shoot me back with a question?" He sighed.

"My bad." Mac said nonchalantly as he shrugged his shoulder.

Dew was not surprised about Mac's behavior. He has been used to it since their childhood. Shaking his head, Dew's eyes laid on the familiar shiny thing inside his friend's palm.

"Oh, you found your bracelet?"

"Yea... I found it behind the bookshelf."

Tring...Tring...

The ringing desk phone muddled their conversation. Mac walked near to his bed and answered it straight away while Dew was just rubbing his stomach. A tiny groan came out from his mouth probably because he still hurting inside.

"Dew, it's your mother."

"My mom? Why would she call me during this time?" He muttered to himself taking the phone off from Mac's hand.

Mac pulled himself and sat on the edge of his bed giving a space for Dew to talk with his mother. He was not even listening to his friend when his eyes fixed on the closet. Inside of his head, he was a bit anxious knowing that he put somebody in there. With the tiny space Mac can guess that Nan was having a hard time being in the closet for quite a long time.

To be frank, he can just let Dew and Nan greet each other. But not to cause any misunderstanding between the two of them Mac chose to be in this way. How the hell was he supposed to explain about a guy who just breakthrough his house at midnight? That man even sacrificed himself by climbing up to the second floor. And Mac for sure chooses to play safe rather than losing anything.

"Dude, I'm so sorry. My mom said that the house is almost on fire."

"What?! You can't be serious, aren't you?"

"It is... I need to head back."

"Careful on your way then."

Mac sent Dew to the front door before paying a goodbye to each other. As Dew excuses himself and leaves, Mac finally feels at ease. He wasn't sure what it was but at least for him, he can avoid any misunderstanding or fake news. Not that he was selfish he did wonder why would he let himself do this.

Right after he closed the door, he ran to his room and rushed to open the closet. The urge to free the man from the tiny space was the only thing he had inside of his head. He brings his hand towards the old wooden door but he suddenly stops. His hand still hanging in the mid-air like something was bothering him. Mac hesitated to let the closet open. And he wasn't sure about this. He gulped, taking a deep breath before sliding open the door.

"You can come out now."

As the slide closet door was opened, for a moment nothing was coming out from the closet. It was dark inside. Mac had to squint his eyes and move closer before his life flashed through his eyes as the guy with the black hoodie appeared right in front of him. Mac widened his eyes once he realized their face was just a few inches away.

He immediately took a few steps back and made a distance between the latter. Mac was about to lose his mind. He could feel his lungs almost left his body. He tried to catch his breath and stare into the person. Nan on the other hand seemed to be very calm. Like very very calm. Nothing seems to bother him. With his cool appearance, this guy, if Mac could be honest Nan does look like a person who could have stolen every girl's heart.

"I don't want to sound rude but... Can you stop doing that?"

"Yes?"

"You almost gave me a heart attack! For God's sake..." He sighed. He gave up his legs and sat on the couch. "Anyway, thank you... the bracelet. I owe you."

"Not a big deal. Besides, you helped me once."

Outside, the rumbling thunder can be heard as it starts pouring from the sky. It was such an alluring night, cold breeze giving a chill, earthy scent spread due to the heavy rains. The curtain was pounded by the wind making the rain come in. Mac hurriedly shut his window avoiding the rain splash.

"You can stay a bit longer until the rain calms down before heading back."

"I must've bothered you a lot."

"Nah, that's nothing to do with anything."

Mac excused himself for a while before coming back with two cups of hot chocolate in his hands. He hands Nan the cup on his right which Nan accepts immediately. Mac took a sit on the couch while Nan standing near the window. As he put the cup on the coffee table, a brown cat suddenly walked closer and jumped onto Mac's lap. He gave him a stroke on the head and belly rubs.

"Your cat?"

"Hm."

"He looks chunky."

"Yeah... He eats too much and just sleeps the whole day."

"Sound like a well-raised typical cat to me."

"I can't say it was wrong though." Mac chuckled. "How about you? Do you have any pets?"

"Me? No. I'm not fond of animals."

The two of them went silent. None of them know the current awkward atmosphere is so long gone. Leaving only a peaceful rainy night with damp and cold weather. The sound of rain calming to mind while the freezing zephyr gives a goosebump to the skin. The time had just passed by but it seemed the rain did not give any sign to stop.

"This is the guest room. Is it okay for you to sleep here?" Mac asked, taking out the extra pillow and blanket.

"No bother. Thank you."

"Let me know if you need..."

And the light went out.

"..."

"Geez..."
