| Part 20 | Me and you

Mac's footsteps faltered for a moment as he turned with a sudden jolt. His eyes searching the surroundings, he locked them onto the person who had called him, a hint of surprise painted across his features. In front of his shadow was a tall, slender-frame woman standing before him. Each line and the curve of her body create a work of living art. In other words, she is blessed with the ethereal beauty that captivates onlookers like a magnet.

"Young man"

As the voice grew louder and closer, chills raced down his spine, A tingling sensation covered his limbs, and goosebumps rose, visible evidence of the intense fear that gripped his soul. Mac could feel the beautiful figure coming for his throat. A shiver accompanied each one as her sharp gaze looked into his eyes. She kind of reminds him of the cold vampire guy he met before. But that was another story. And now he is in a big trouble. Mac could feel the heavy atmosphere surrounding them both. Even though the truth is right in front of his eyes, he does not dare to blurt out the word, telling the latter that he is the actual human being in here. Nan has warned him before about this, to never share his identity with anybody, especially the stranger. But the real thing is, how does he escape from this situation?

"Nova?" The sound of a man's voice croaked from the far corner, saved him from the intense silence.

"Oh, look who's here. What, no hug for your big sis?"

Big sis?

"When did you arrive? You could have told us earlier, father would be happy to welcome you home." The third-party walked nearer, approaching them.

"I do not need a big celebration. It's too crowded. Besides, I'm back. So, rest assured. I believe that it's your turn now. You got someone there you should introduce to us."

The lady squinted her eyes, looking in Mac's direction. The other sibling only let out a plain smile. He shamelessly grabbed Mac by his waist and brought him closer to his body. That leaves the petite human speechless.

"He's mine."

"Woah, easy there. I won't take him anyway. But hey, my name is Nova. Nan's twin sister. And I am technically older than him."

"My name is Mac." He spoke despite the awkward surroundings.

"Mac, huh? I never knew that my brother's taste was like this. Does he know?" The girl asked referring to Mac.

What, about you two being vampires? Yes, I did. If not why would I bother wearing the bracelet on my wrist? Mac thought to himself.

"Sister, I believe father is waiting for you. You should meet him after this."

"Yeah, I'd be glad. Have fun you two." She spoke as her lips curved into a smile before walking away, leaving only Mac and Nan.

"I never knew you had a twin sister." Mac said, looking in the opposite direction.

"But now you know." He let out a chuckle after seeing Mac pouting his lips. "Come on, your lunch is ready."

After that, Nan brought him to his workplace. The small guy is amazed by how huge the room is. The whole places are designed with aesthetic and elegant concepts.

"Meditation is part of the treatment for his body and soul to relax. I believe reading may help with bringing closure to other realms where it calls escaping reality. This is one of my suggestions, sir." That was what the doctor said when he met Nan earlier.

"For the meantime, these books are all yours."

Mac let out a smile after seeing the racks of books. This place is the same as he has always dreamed about. It is a heaven place for book lovers. He spent time searching for the cover that was catching his attention before picking them up. As he is done collecting all his pleased material, he makes himself comfy on the seat.
