Mac was by the window. He was mesmerized by the night sky view. The cold breeze kissed his cheeks as they were whispering the unknown into his ears. So he rubbed his arms to keep the warm to himself. Tonight, the sky looks as pretty as it used to be. Millions of sparkling stars lay beneath those dark spaces. But only the moon is missing.
"It seems like I came in the wrong time."
The sudden voice greeted him from below. Mac narrowed his gaze towards the guy who had just shown up under the tree. With the hands in the pocket, the man in black tilted his head as the lips curled into a smile. He leaned against the tree, not breaking the eye contact. Mac doesn't seem surprised to see the appearance of these requests. More like, he is already used to these kinds of situations.
"So you do aware..?"
"I guess." The man shrugged.
Mac let out a small chuckle inside his throat. How to know whether he was talking to Nan, every serious conversation will turn into jokes. The latter only kept his straight face but never hid how his inner eyes dilated. He saw how different Mac looked today. How gorgeous he looked tonight. But the man said nothing.
"Don't you have anything else to do?"
"No?" The man nonchalantly spoke his answers.
Mac scoffed. Whenever Nan is around, he never has any chance to ask a proper question because what comes next is beyond his expectations. All of the questions would be answered without taking into a serious matter. Mac did have a thought perhaps he should think out of the box. But it looks like it was all pointless. No matter what kinds of things he asked, or what sort of words he used, Nan would always come out with a variety of ideas. It seemed a person like him just talked without thinking about it any further.
"May I?"
Mac heard him and took a step back, letting the man climb up to his room. The man simply emerged from the window. He pushed the hood back as he walked into the room. As it now lay folded on his shoulders. Mac could see his black hair shining under the dim light. That hair was so glossy and slick that when he gave a brush with his slender fingers.
"Next time you better use the front door."
"But I prefer the shortcut."
"Wow. I do appreciate that sir."
Nan breathed out a chuckle. He shook his head and licked the corner of his lips. He was in his world when his eyes laid on the tiny bread that was lying on the couch. A small living creature caught his attention from the very beginning. Never did he think a person like him could have an interest in animals. How possible this tiny monster pulled his heart? It may be because he was used to living in the wild where all the packs hunted for food which made him forget about everything. Thus, no lovely living creatures were wandering around the forest.
"I'm sorry about yesterday. I had no idea Coco would follow you again. He looks so adorable that you can't even be mad at him. And that's annoyed me so badly. I hope it doesn't give you a lot of trouble since he kept being naughty." Mac spoke.
"It's fine. Your cat seems to be interested in my world."
"Yeah... I got myself a troublemaker."
"You better watch out for the crime he will do next time."
"I'll put him in jail."
"Can you?"
"In my case, yes... With that, he will learn how to behave."
"Quit the nonsense."
"You start it first. By any chance, do you wanna stay here a bit longer? Today is Coco's birthday."
