Dreaming was peaceful. My hearts desires were almost complete.

My mother was lying beside me on a picnic blanket, we were on the beach where I had spent much of my childhood, I had many memories here; most of them were good, but there were exceptions. Mum was laughing in such a carefree way at one of my memories I had shared with her, that I couldn’t help but laugh along with her.

There were a wide variety of foods on the blanket with us; homemade pizza, my mum’s famous double chocolate chip muffins, freshly made lemonade, fresh fruit and much, much more.

It was heaven; I never wanted to leave.

We lay there talking about past times, talking about what we missed while we were separated from each other; we weren’t sparing any details about what the other had missed.

I looked away from my mother and out over the waves that were crashing on the shore.

The waves weren’t coming towards us, but they weren’t moving away either. It was as if time had stopped; but the waves continued their never ending pattern, in and out, over and over again.

My world was perfect; except one thing, my friends weren’t here with me.

“Isabelle.” My mum turned to me, smiling picking up a grape and placing it into her mouth.

“Yeah?” I replied, turning my gaze away from the hypnotic patterns of the water, and facing her.

But there was something different about her.

Her voice was changing, she was changing; her blonde hair was falling out, being replaced by short dark brown hair instead.

The sun fell behind the horizon and everything went black, the soft wind disappeared aswell.

I began to get scared; my peaceful portion of heaven was rapidly changing into my worst nightmare.

I could still hear the voice calling my name over and over again.

There was a throbbing pain in my temple, and I sat up rubbing my head.

“Ouch.” I groaned, to no one in particular.

There was more, so much more, that I wanted to say, but quickly decided that ‘ouch’ was enough.

Warm strong arms encircled me; they caressed my hair softly. The smell was familiar but I didn’t know where It was from.

“Are you alright?” the voice said, whispering a soft calming rhythm in my ear.

“Yeah, sure.” I said turning to the voice, trying to make out the features of the person who was whispering in my ear.

I couldn’t make out who it was, whoever they were, they were framed, like an angel, bathed in the light intruding into the darkness of the room from the open door.

I had to shield my eyes from the glare off of the tiled floor.

 “Shaun?” I asked.

“BRADIE!” the voice called, I heard acknowledgement from close by, followed by approaching footsteps.

“Yeah, izzy it’s me. Shaun.” He was pressing a cold cloth to my head.

Bradie entered the room, and walked over to stand beside me.

“What?” I asked, I was dazed and didn’t know what happened.

“Izzy, Shhh. You hit your head and passed out.” Shaun said; letting bradie take the cloth from him.

There was a sigh and a squeak from the doorway.

Two people entered the room and surrounded me.

They collapsed on either side of me, one next to Shaun, and the other next to bradie.

“My luck must have transferred to you.” Stacey said laughing and taking my hand.

“great.” I sighed. “Why am I still here? Someone help me up.”

“If you want.” Maddie said.

“I wouldn’t recommend it.” Bradie stated, he was going to say more, but thought the better of it when Shaun glared at him.

“hey.” Maddie said protectively. “Leave him alone Shaun.”

“Well if she wants to get up she can.” He retorted.

“guys.” I said facing both of them, “calm down. Shaun; if bradie says I shouldn’t stand up, I won’t. You can carry me. Maddie; calm down.”

Maddie sighed, Bradie kissed her cheek reassuringly and she smiled, visibly relaxing.

Shaun picked me up and carried me out of the room, leaving the others in the dressing room.

“Izzy, what were you thinking?!” he said as soon as we were out of ear shot.

“What?” I said getting fired up. “Do you seriously think that I’d do this to myself on purpose?”

“Not that.” He said as he placed me on a couch, pacing agitatedly in front of me.

“Then what Shaun?” I asked, I was getting annoyed, like seriously annoyed; so annoyed that if he didn’t explain soon, I was gunna hit him.

“Go somewhere and not tell me where you were going. Iz I was so worried. And I tried calling you, but you wouldn’t pick up and I-“

“shhh.” I said getting up, defying bradies orders, and hugging him. “Shaun, look at me. Calm down. I'm ok, see?”

I kissed him; convincing him it was ok, that I was ok.

I felt him smile against my lips and kiss me back.
