The next day went quickly; apart from the flight in, I spent most of the morning at the hotel playing my bass. Shaun sat beside me, writing some music to a few songs that he’d recently written, they were sounding good.
Occasionally I helped him with a few pieces.
He asked me to play the bass line while he thought of a lead line, most of the time it helped him, but others it didn’t, and he eventually got frustrated.
“Let’s go for a walk.” I suggested, putting my bass into the stand. “I got a killer craving for some Chinese. And plus, you can air out that brain of yours, it hasn’t been used this much in its life.” I knocked on his head lightly.
I got no reply, other then him smiling at me, then picking me up and throwing me backwards onto the bed. I began to laugh, so much time was spent laughing these days.
He jumped on the bed aswell and crawled up to where I was sitting, kissed me quickly, smirked then said simply “I dibs the mirror.”
I sighed and he went into the bathroom.
“I’m gunna go tell the others where were going.”
I found maddie and Stacey whispering together on the couch in the corner of maddies room. They looked up as I entered. Maddie was giggling and Stacey was smiling widely.
“Are you gunna explain?” I looked at them both.
Stacey got up and ran over to me, squealing in a girlish way, that alone scared me.
Nothing made Stacey squeal like that.
She stopped in front of me jumping up and down.
“Calm down stace.” I enthused. “Breathe and stop bouncing, you’re making me dizzy.”
She obliged and stopped bouncing, maddie gestured to the couch beside her.
I went and sat down, curious as to what they were doing, and what had made maddie squeal like that.
“If you don’t tell her I will.” Maddie said excitedly.
“Andy kissed me!” Stacey squealed again.
“Oh, my, god!” it was my turn to squeal.
Bradie appeared in the doorway, followed by Shaun and Amanda.
“What’s going on in here? It sounds like a pig being murdered.” He laughed.
We all glared at him and he stopped.
“Shaun, I need to talk to you, outside, now.” Then announced “were going for Chinese, leaving now, if you want anything call me.” I got hold of Shaun’s shirt and pulled him out of the room.
He stopped, I let go of his shirt and kept jogging towards the lift. “Well don’t just stand there looking goofy, do you want this food or not?” he shook his head and started jogging aswell.
“What’s got you so happy?” he asked me when we were outside of the hotel.
I stopped spinning and fell into him, I was dizzy.
“Andy kissed Stacey!” I said and began spinning again.
“What?!” he said laughing, but with a shocked expression on his face.
That was enough to make me burst into hysterical laughter, which meant I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.
“Andy and Stacey! Andy loves Stacey! Stace-EEP!”
I stood on one of my shoelaces that had come undone, this meant that I once again fell over, face first into the ground.
“Izzy are you ok?” Shaun said rolling me over, his expression softened when he saw I was fine, and still laughing.
He picked me up and set me on the ground.
“Teaches you to look where your going doesn’t it?” Shaun said as he took my hand and we began walking towards the fast food shop down the street.
We walked past a small house with a few rose bushes out the front. Shaun pulled me to a stop and picked one for me, it was red and it was beautiful.
“Bella.” He said putting it behind my ear.
“Bella?” I said confused. Before he could reply the door to the house opened and a frail old woman came out.
“Hello dears.” She smiled sweetly.
“Hello.” We replied in unison, and then Shaun added “we were just admiring your roses.”
She walked up to us and smiled, then spied the rose behind my ear.
“Did you just pick that rose from my garden?! That Is my PRIZE WINNING ROSEBUSH! I was going to use that rose to win first prize against that damn Betsy Ferdinand.” She started to hobble towards us, she was fast, for an old lady, suddenly she was running at us, apparently her roses were worth more then we’d originally thought.
We collapsed around the corner and laughed until we started crying.
On our way back we were careful, we walked past her house again spied her sitting on a garden chair, guarding her roses, mumbling something about Betsy Ferdinand, until her teeth fell out and she woke up.
She looked around startled until she saw us again. I still had the rose in my hair.
“THAT WAS MY PRIZE WINNING ROSEBUSH!” And she got up, chasing us again.
“Shit.” Shaun said.
“Run!” I agreed.
And we ran until we were exhausted and in the lift of the hotel.
