A month passed, and the couple decided they would tell Shane's parents about their relationship that night. Together the boys made their way to Shane's family's mansion, telling Zane about the history of the house.

"My parents want to leave it to me when they pass, me and my non-existent kids and future wife. They are up for a surprise tonight, don't you think?"

"Are you sure this is a good Idea? I still have my cast on, what if they assume the worst?" Zane motioned down to the cast.

"It's only on for another 5 days, babe. You're in a suit, your hair looks really nice. You have a large scar they are going to question, I'm telling you that right now, and they are going to judge your piercing too. But, I love those things so don't you dare be insecure about them. They'll probably say your hair is too long for a guy, but I love it, so fuck them. And, when the truth comes out you're my boyfriend... we'll see how it goes," Shane tried to comfort his boyfriend but he was just as nervous. He was worried about losing his parents, losing their love and support because he loves a man.

"No matter what happens, remember you have a big fucking support system that loves you, Shane."

Shane stops his boyfriend, pushes himself up, and pushes their lips together. It was short, but comfortable and needed to calm their nerves. It gave them enough courage to continue the walk to Shane's home. Before unlocking the door and opening it, Shane squeezed Zane's hand and then let go for what would soon feel like hours. Upon walking in, Shane announced their arrival, and Shane's favorite assistant Beatrice came running forward. She's one of the only ones who lived in the house that knew he was gay.

"B!" Shane yelled and pulled her into a tight hug. "I've missed you, I'm sorry! My aunt is closer to school and-"

She shushed him and pointed to Zane, then wiggled her eyebrows. Shane gave a nod and a grin, and Beatrice squealed.

"I'm so happy for you," she whispered. "I'm so happy for you. Good luck with your parents. They're in the Ballard. Have fun," he stepped away as the two boys walked in. "Nice suit, it's best to be dressed too impressed."

Zane gave a large smile and a nod as a thank you, then followed Shane around the godly mansion. Everything seemed so much smaller when they had the party, but now that it's empty it all seemed so big. Shane opened up the two large doors and pulled Zane inside with him. A servant closed the door as they left, knowing a talk was about to happen. They winked as Shane, and Shane knew it meant "good luck".

"Shane, it's so good to see you, hun," Shane's mother stood and pulled him into a hug. "Who's your friend?" She asked almost cautiously.

"His name is Zane."

"Good evening ma'am, my name is Zane Williams," he brought her hand to his lips. "It's a pleasure to officially meet you. I was Shane's plus one at the party but I don't think I met either of you. We did a lot of running around and talking. Your place is so beautiful," Zane grins, putting in his best charm. This was his lover's parents, homophobic parents at that.

"Oh, you're so charming, come sit," she grinned and pulled them to the chairs across from her and her husband. "You're charming and attractive, too bad for that piercing, but I guess that's the trend right? Is long hair stylish right now too? I try to keep up when I can," she laughed.

"I keep my hair long on purpose," Zane said and pulled on his long hair on instinct. "My biological father had long hair, and I took after him. When my parents passed I latched onto whatever I could of them, and my father's long hair was a gene I took and embraced."

Shane's mother frowned, "I'm so sorry to hear about your parents. I can't imagine. That's lovely how you hold onto that. Doesn't it ever get tiring to keep it in shape? I know I struggle especially when it gets humid," she played with her hair.
