Shane watched and waited for his now ex to come back to him, but it'd been 2 months already, and with ever passing day he waited he grew anxious that his saviour wouldn't come back for him. Until an old friend, an old lover, a new enemy approached.

"I promise it'll be fun," Sammy dragged Shane through the mall, Gill watching with a smile holding Maddy on her shoulders,

"I'm just not up for it," Shane complains.

It's a weekend, and his biggest fear was people from school seeing him out and harassing him, or people from their community seeing him without his proper attire and snitching to his parents.

"It'll be okay let's just have some fun. Let's get some food first, I want pretzels," Sammy grins at her partner behind them, giving a wink and a thumbs up. She dragged them all to get pretzels and sugary treats, then made them sit at a booth and make a plan for their route. "I want to stop by Spencer. G, you and Maddy can go across to the shoe store," She gave her partner's hand a gentle squeeze. G smiled and nodded, appreciating Sammy for providing love and support after their talk a while ago about Gill questioning her gender.

Their smiles and giggles were cut short when they noticed a man come over to them. G frowned and pushed Maddy towards Shane as she stood in front of their group. Jay put his hands up in surrender.

"I'm not here to fight, just to talk a little," He says then looks at Shane.

"No," G says, keeping her ground.

"Just one minute," He begged.

"You can say what you want right here, right now, then leave," Shane stood an stepped up beside G, Sammy going over to Maddy.

"I'm sorry about everything. I mean everything. The kiss, not taking your side, not helping you, being an ass, hurting you, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for fighting your boyfriend, I'm sorry I was so jealous and hurt you more, I'm so fucking sorry for everything."

"Jealous?" Shane asked, not believing it.

"I was so jealous that you got to be out and happy, find a guy you loved, but you're the only guy I've ever loved. I was jealous, I acted out like a child, I was pissed. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

Shane frowned, then looked at Gill. "Can you take Maddy away, I need to talk to him."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," Shane says and pats his friends back. When they step away Shane looks back to Jay. "So why are you telling me all this? Why now?"

"Because I want to start over. I miss you, I miss you so much, and I feel like a piece of shit for everything I've done. I want to start over, I want us to be friends again."

"Maybe, you've got to prove yourself. I can't get used and abused again, I won't have it."

"Yes, yes, I'll prove myself. Whatever you want, whatever you need."

"Time, give me time. I'm hurt, I've very hurt, I'm broken thanks to you. So give me time, and I'll reach out when I'm ready."

Jay smiled, "okay. Thank you, Shane-y. Thank you."

"Give me time, Jay-o," Shane gave a small smile, letting himself relax a little, but he was going to keep his mental guard up. He will not let himself get hurt again.

Zane got a normal job at a jewelry store in order I appear normal to Jacklyn's eyes. She was watching him more closely recently, accusing him of talking to Shane even though he wasn't. He was scared. Getting a normal job was his way of escaping her prying eyes.

He had no clue that getting that normal job would be the thing that triggered her to send his uncle Jason after him.
