Chapter 22

Izabella's POV
About seven weeks had passed, and the babies are the size of strawberries. During these weeks, Jo helped me out a lot. We've gotten closer from all the time we spend together. She's honestly the sweetest person I've ever met. It's hard to believe that her and Kai are related.

It was now the morning of Alaric and Jo's wedding. She asked me to come early to help her get ready.
"Crap. They are not here." Jo said nervously
"What's wrong?" Elena asked
"My shoes. My gorgeous, expensive, 'wear them once and never again' shoes are missing." She explained
"Do you want me to do a locater spell?" I suggested
"On my shoes? Is that possible?" She questioned
"Well, in my one hundred and something witchcraft practice, I've never heard of that kind of things, but I couldn't try." I said. Bonnie was playing with some sort of iron thing and almost broke it.
"Good, break it. My wrinkled dress will distract everyone from my bare feet." Jo said sarcasticly to Bonnie
"Hey, hey. Come on, don't waste all your panic now. You still have eight hours until the ceremony. Non-alcoholic mimosa?" Elena calmed her down
"Non-alcoholic mimosa is just orange juice, and you should drink." Jo said to Elena
"I will, but now I have human tolerance." She said
"Please drink, for me. I haven't drank alcohol in weeks, and it's killing me." I said dramatically

I took a shower and put on my navy blue dress.
"Whoa, is that a baby bump?" Damon asked. He startled me, and I quickly turned from the mirror towards him.
"No, you dick. I just had a big breakfast." I rolled my eyes and punched him in the arm
"Sure."He chuckled
"Go away." I raised my hand, and the door slammed. I turn back to the mirror and examine my stomach. Jo said I might start showing early because it's twins.

The ceremony was about to start, and I sat down next to Tyler and Liv.
"Hey,I heard about your pregnancy. Congratulations." Tyler whispered to me, and I gave him a weak smile
"Thank you."
"I hope it's not weird that you're sitting with us." He says.
"What Kai did has nothing to do with you."
"Oh, okay, good." I chuckled
"I'm going to find Ric. I need to give him something."
"Okay. I'll save your seat." Tyler smiled

I got up and walked out. I saw Ric near the doorway.
"You nervous?" I asked him
"Very." He chuckled
"Don't be. Jo told me what your guys' plan was. I want to ensure your safety because you both have helped me a lot. So, here." I handed him a small box. He opened it and looked up at me with a confused look.
"It's a few vials of my blood. Promise me you'll keep at least one with you all the time." I said
"Wow, thank you." He grinned
"I promise." He out one in his pocket. I smiled and walked back into the venue. I took my seat, and a couple of minutes later, Alaric walked in.

As Ric finished his vows, I started to tear up.
"Alaric Saltzman," Jo started
"You are-" She suddenly stopped.
"Jo? Jo, what is it?" Alaric asked, concerned. There was blood coming from her stomach. It was showing through her dress. Everyone gasped and she fell into Ric's arms. Kai suddenly appeared holding a bloody knife. My eyes widened at the sight of him.
"I was gonna wait 'till the dead do us part.' But it seemed a little on the nose. Am I right?" Kai turned to the crowd.

Alaric looked at me and I mouthed the word 'pocket'. He quickly pulled out the vial and poured the blood into Jo's mouth. I heard her hear beating regularly again. Kai raises his hand, causing everyone to grab their heads because of the pain. It wasn't effecting on me though.
"Miss me." He smiled evily
"No? Oh, well."
The windows broke, and he sent the glass to the crowd. I vamp sped over to Alaric and Jo and helped them up. I quickly vamp sped them out and to their car.
"Jo, are you okay?" I asked
"Yeah, yeah, I feel fine." She said
"Is the baby okay?" Jo asked me

I put my hair behind my ear and listen for the heartbeat. I stood there for a couple of seconds before I heard anything. I smile at them, and they let out a sigh of relief.
"The baby's fine." I smiled
"Oh, thank God." They both said
"I got it from here, okay. Please just drive, and don't stop until you're safe." I quickly gave them a hug

"You sure you'll be okay?" Ric asked me
"Yes. Do you have the gift?" I asked them
"Yeah, it's in the car." He answered
"Okay, good. Now, go." I said
They quickly got in the car and drove away. I went back inside, and everyone was dead. Kai was missing. I went to check outside to see Tyler on top of Kai.
"Tyler, stop!" I shouted

Tyler looked up and hopped off of Kai. He ran away. Kai grunted and slowly got up.
"Where are they?" Kai questioned me
"Who?" I asked
"My sister and her almost husband." He explained, walking towards me
"I don't know." I shrugged
"How are you still alive?" I asked him
"I don't know." He shrugged and grined.
He vamp sped away. He was a vampire. How the hell was Kai a vampire?

I made a call to Jo and Ric to make sure they're safe because I had no idea where Kai went.
"Iza, is everything okay?" Jo asked as soon as
"Jo, your whole family is dead." I sighed
"Oh, my God." She gasped
"And somehow Kai is a vampire." I added
"What? How?" She asked
"I have no idea. I'll try to keep you guys updated. Is everything alright there?" I said
"Yeah, we left Mystic Falls, and we're almost in North Carolina." She explained
"Okay, good. Well, I'll let you guys be. Call me if you need anything. Bye." I said and hunged up
