Sage sat at the back of the school bus watching the rain fall, she couldn't wait to go home and tell her mom all about the crazy day she had today. To Sage, Indigo was more of a best friend than a mother, she always knew what to say and when to say it."Hey Sage, look over there." Natalie Baker pointed at the coffee shop, "Isn't that your mom?"
It was her mom, but why was she in the coffee shop alone? She shook the negative thoughts away and turned to Natalie. Natalie had been her friend since they started school, they were basically like sisters. Natalie knew everything about Sage and Sage knew everything about Natalie.
When the bus finally stopped at Natalie and Sage's house, the girls hopped off and headed straight for Natalie's well-decorated house. It was so close to Natalie's sweet sixteen and the two have been busy planning the decorations for a year now.
"Sage, thank you for coming. You know that it's Nat's' birthday in three weeks, I'm so stressed." Mrs Baker exclaimed as she poured juice for the girls.
Sage always wished to have the perfect family like Natalie. A hard-working dad that provides for the family and keeps them safe, a mother who always has time to help her children with homework and a loving sibling. She never hated her mom, she always knew that Indigo did the best she could, but she just wanted a complete family. The last time she had a dad was when she was five, she barely even remembered what he looked like. But she knew that he always kept her mom happy, she knew that he would never do anything to hurt her.

"Seth please, I'm pregnant." Indigo pleaded as she sat at Seth's feet.
"I don't care! I'm pretty sure it's not even mine!" He knelt down. "Now get the fuck up and make me something to eat before I aim for the stomach this time."
Indigo's arm cradled her belly and she picked herself up, she rushed over to the kitchen to make her soon-to-be-husband something to eat. Seth was the only boy to an affluent businessman and was treated like royalty in his house. He was not used to having responsibilities and he often blamed Indigo for that. When his father found out that he was dating a poor girl and that she was pregnant, he forced Seth to get married to Indigo and live as a family. His mother got them a house and Indigo was forced to leave school and stay at home until the baby was born.
"Hurry up!" Seth ordered as he sat in the dining room.
Indigo quickly heated up the food that Seth's mom brought and gave it to him. She watched him eat as she cradled her belly. She hated that she was pregnant, but she couldn't blame the child for her mistake.
"Listen," Seth placed down his spoon. "Mother said that since you're four months now, we can go check the gender of the baby. Your appointment is this Friday. Please go shopping for some good clothes. You're no longer a poor person, you're a part of the Conrads now, so you have to dress like one. My sister Layla will go with you tomorrow."
Indigo nodded her head and cleared the table she headed to the kitchen to wash the dishes. When she finished, she neatened up the living room and vacuumed the dining room so that Seth wouldn't get angry again and then she headed to her room.
"Come." Seth patted the empty space on the bed and Indigo obeyed. She laid her head on his shoulder. "You know I would never hurt you."
"Yes, I know."
"Good girl." He stroked her hair.
