"Please Seth, let my baby go." She pleaded."I already told you what I want you to do. Just agree and I'll let her go."
"No! I will never go back to living with you."
"Oh really. You stay put, I have a surprise for you."
With Seth's back turned, Indigo reached into her hair to search for a hair pin. She attempted to remove the cuffs, the click of it unlocking brought joy to her. When Seth returned he had a gun in his hand, he aimed it at her.
"Did you change your mind yet?" Seth chuckled.
"Seth?"
"Yes." He thought he had finally won her over.
"Can I use the ladies room?"
"Fine." He rolled his eyes. "Let's go."
"Well, I can't walk if you have my legs tied up." She said sarcastically.
"Okay, fine. But no funny business."
He came over and placed the gun next to her on the bed, he was unaware of the fact that Indigo had freed her hands. When he was almost done untying her, she grabbed the gun and hit his head with the handle of the gun. He let out a loud groan and this alerted his partner. She came running in with Sage right behind her.
"Layla? You helped with all this?" Indigo pointed the gun at her.
"Put the gun down." Layla said as she pulled out her knife again. "Or the girl gets it." She grabbed Sage and held the knife on her throat.
As Indigo was about to place the gun on the ground, Seth got up and tried to grab it from her. Indigo tightened her grip on the gun, and so did Seth. As they tugged on the gun it accidentally fired, sending a bullet right into Layla's chest. The knife fell from her hand as she stood in silence, she touched the blood that was now oozing onto her shirt, within seconds her lifeless body fell to the ground. Seth let go of the gun and ran to his sister's side, he placed her body on his lap and began crying.
"What have you done?" He yelled. "She's dead!"
"I'm tired of you and your family." She aimed the gun at Seth. "You hurt me for seven years, not anymore."
"Indigo please, what about our child. How will she live with the fact that you killed her father." He begged. "Please, put the gun down."
"No. Sage, get out of here and don't look back." Indigo instructed as she got ready to pull the trigger."
"Mom, please don't shoot dad."
"Sage, I said go." Indigo was getting annoyed.
"But mom..."
"Sage, leave. Now!"
She obeyed her mother, when she left the old furniture shop, she saw Kai coming in. He was running and it looked like he was tired. He hugged Sage tight and thanked God that she was okay. He looked behind her and didn't see Indigo anywhere.
"Where's Indigo?" He asked.
"She's in there." Sage pointed to the furniture shop.
The two of them walked into the furniture shop, Sage clung to Kai's arm and buried her face into his side as he stood there.
"Please, I just want to give my baby everything she deserves." Seth continued to plead.
"Seth shut the fuck up! Don't worry about her, she's not even yours!" Indigo blurted.
Seth smirked and took a few steps closer. "So I was right, you are just a cheap bitch. Just like your mother. Don't forget where you come from, Rachel." This really enraged Indigo. "Go ahead shoo..."
Before he could finish his sentence there was a loud bang, he felt the bullet enter his chest. He gasped for air and he made a gurgling sound when he tried to speak. Indigo dropped the gun and fell to her knees. Seth fell to the ground with a big thump. Kai and Sage stood there, taking in what Indigo had just said. Sage wasn't Seth's child. As Seth gasped for air the Chicago police officers arrived at the scene.
"Send in the medics, we have a male, mid thirties, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Heart rate is low." Said a police officer who had gone to check if Seth was alive.
"Indigo, are you okay?" Ethan asked as he placed a blanket over her.
"I'm fine, where's Sage?"
"She's on her way to the car, she's safe."
"Indigo, we need to talk." Kai said.
"Hey buddy, back off man. She's still in shock." Ethan stood up and helped Indigo to her feet.
"It's none of your business so butt out." Kai said angrily as he took Indigo's hand.
"Both of you, relax. I'll go with Kai. Ethan, can you please drop Sage off at home and wait for me? I don't think she wants to see me right now."
Indigo handed her house keys to Ethan and followed Kai to the car.
