Chapter eighty four

"Aftermath."

Things had been different since what happened at McKinley which was completely understandable, and it wasn't just the fact that Sue no longer worked there in which Coach Roz Washington had taken over as the coach of the cheerios, Britney had gotten early admission into MIT, Tina was trying out a new look called steam punk, Sam thought he had a twin brother and the others had a bit of PTSD.

Where on top of her dad having cancer, the whole shooting incident had caused Caroline to find it unable to sleep, waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, hearing those gunshots in her head and imagining the worst, and she seemed to not be the only one since Jake would come to her house every night and sleep over, although the two struggled to do much of any sleeping and it's not like they were doing anything sexual, they mostly just talked and sometimes had the occasional make out session where they did some over the clothes stuff but other then that, they just enjoyed being with each other.

Which was why the two of them walked into the choir room together where everyone else seemed to already be there, as Caroline walked up to the steps to her seat, Jake stopped down at the bottom and kissed Marley on the cheek as he quickly followed after Caroline, Mr Schuester had walked in "big news, guys. I just got a direct tweet from the greater midwest regional high school show choir board of directors." he shared as everyone cheered "the theme for this years regionals is.." Mr Schuester told them as he turned around walking up to the board "sweaters." Britney said "dreams." Mr Schuester told them as he wrote it on the board, he turned to them all "as you know, some of the past judges we have. Haven't been that bright or that sober, so..are best bet is to take the dream theme literally. We'll start out with dream waveband then segue into sweet dreams and we'll bring it home with you make my dreams come true." Mr Schuester shared, as some people cheered.

"Marley, you're frowning." Mr Schuester pointed out "no, I just don't know any of those songs." Marley shared "well, you know them soon enough because we're learning them today." Mr Schuester shared, handing out the sheet music as Marley cleared her throat "maybe, could we try some original songs like you did two years ago?" she asked "yeah, my twin brother Sam told me you guys totally crushed regionals two years ago with those sweet tunes." Sam mentioned "well, Sa..um, Evan, that was a different time and a different team." Mr Schuester shared.

"Mr Schue, can we at least talk about the setlist? I mean, when Finn was here.." Marley said "wrong thing to say." Caroline whispered as Mr Schuester began to blow up on them "do I have to remind you guys how lucky we are to even be at regionals? We are there on a technicality, which means there's absolutely no room for even the smallest of mistakes. Trust me. Anybody else have something they wanna say? Great. Brad, warm them up." Mr Schuester shared, as Brad played the piano.

Later on, Caroline had called all the new direction members to the auditorium as she had a gavel in her hand, she banged it, getting everyone's attention "I know secret glee club meetings never exactly go well, but with everything happening I.." she was saying as Sam interrupted her "oh, Sam's sorry he couldn't make it. He said to tell every..oh, just got a text. He's here." he shared but as Evan, getting up and answering the phone as he ran off, Caroline huffed "guys, if we wanna win, he really can't keep doing that I mean what is he having a split personality disorder?" she asked.
